New to forums: just purchased an 08 xb12ss

Maybe a clutch adjustment…easy…or, check your primary cover (I believe there's a known issue that causes the clutch to behave as you describe). Someone else who's more familiar can provide details of the primary issue… I'd think if there's an issue with the clutch dragging, it could cause the...

All 3 relays hot to the touch...

Do they only get that hot only after the engine runs…or will they heat up with the ignition on and the engine NOT running? Alan

    transmission clicking and vibrating

The first thing is to accept the problem…and relax. Whatever the problem is, you'll still be here tomorrow. And so will it. Frustration won't help and might actually make your thought/decision process worse. Take it from me, the first thing you have to do is accept that something has...

    eBay Rant

I've run into occasional jerks on eBay. One guy was an outright liar, similar to the a-hole who returned the 'defective' item to you. I suspect the ratio of "a-holes : decent folks" is pretty constant. I don't do a lot of selling so I run across a relatively small number of weenies. My main...

    What just happened??

Sounds like, at speed the stator/regulator are putting out maximum juice, 14.something volts DC. You slow down…voltage/current fall, i.e., the battery is responsible for a lot more of the load. My first guess would be battery, not stator. Alan

    acceleration wobbles!

Here's another voice recommending against a steering-damper as a solution, i.e., trying to suppress 'symptoms' versus curing the 'illness'. Once you have the problem resolved, by all means install a damper. Perform the fork service, per the service manual, that's recommended for the bike...

    Made in the USA

I recall reading a story once or someone told me about it (it's been a long time) in which a guy who was stalked by a wolf put some of his own blood on a knife blade and stuck the knife in the snow blade up. The wolf smelled the blood approached the knife and started licking it. The more the...

Anyone else's hands go numb while riding?

Also…bar-end weights can reduce the 'buzz'…which will help eliminate the "tinglies" from that source. I just added some heavy bar-end weights to my XB9S and it made a BIG difference for the better… alan

Anyone else's hands go numb while riding?

It sounds like there's too much weight on your wrists. Raising the bars (and lowering the foot-pegs) is a classic way of taking some weight off the wrists. There's trade-offs. If you do the pegs, you'll lose a little cornering clearance. Raising the bars could interfere with the fairing. Alan

Hessitant, Near Stalling When Pulling Away

I've got a new (to me) Buell XB9S, so this subject interested me. I did some searching, and found others who recommend sticking with the 'stock' spark plugs versus anything else in our bikes. Various symptoms are described, and ascribed to non-stock plugs. I don't know if this is a general...

    Messed up my ecm bad

Perhaps the ECM is not the issue and coincidentally something else has malfunctioned. This would seem so, provided the 'original' firmware has in fact been restored and the bike still refuses to run. Which sounds like it's the case. Good idea to just back off it a day or two, go do something...
