    XB9s Fuel pump

220cca, took a Deka one on Lunatic's advice. It's hard to explain with my English (trying my best here): basically the starter goes full on, no worries on that side, the engine just doesn't "start" right away. The corrosion you're mentioning, what could be the symptom related?

    XB9s Fuel pump

2005! I am wondering if that sad pump is the reason why my XB doesn't start so well lately. It will try (new battery and fresh maintenance so it excludes some other parts), but nothing will pop before few secondes sometimes.

    XB9s Fuel pump

Hey, I'm joining the conversation as mine is now whining pretty bad (on a XB12Scg). As for the part, thanks for the link Silverrider. There's kind of a ton of them, I'll go for this one if you guys confirm I don't need anything else (+ the fuel level sensor lunatic fringe mentioned above)!

On the hunt for an XB: discouraged thus far

I would say that it mostly depends of what you're expecting from the bike. Getting a cheap bike with work to do, you know you most likely won't daily drive it anytime soon, and it will be few hundreds (sometime thousand) dollars of parts/service plus a lot of your time. For some people, it's...

    07 XB12SS Build

True! The worst was the police found it one day before the insurance declares it lost for good. The thing was in such a bad shape, pretty horrible. I had to go pick it up at the tow company and wait for a truck there to bring it to the shop. And because it was brand new at the time (less than a...

    07 XB12SS Build

Haha well, that's exactly what happened to my CBR. Disappeared in 10 sec - I was watching it from the balcony of a friend, went in to fill my cup up, and... gone. But yeah, if they want it, they'll take it - very true. Have you guys looked at GPS trackers? I spent some time on it, really can't...

    07 XB12SS Build

Got it. I am not sure this is keeping the bike that safe, but I would have a hard time getting rid of it (while street parking and so on). But maybe it isn’t a big deal! I remember when I saw the RFID system on the 47 Robin and thought: “I need this. Now.” But it definitely requires a lot of...

    07 XB12SS Build

Impressive work! I love the rear LED, it looks really good. Did you get it from here: http://www.radiantz.com/Blaylock-youtube-light-p/1988.htm ? Also, I'm curious about the RFID system. You still need the key to lock the steering, right?

Awesome SCG on this months calender

Buellybagger"s Craigslist Deals Of the DAY!!!!!

Mitsu showed me the one they have at Bartels' in LA yesterday - such a beautiful piece of engine! And only 50 of them were built if I got that right.

Engine running too lean for over 4 years

Ha! Yeah well I literally just started riding it so it would be hard for me to tell! I just wanted to bring the topic before moving forward! Thank you for the information, it’s very good knowledge :)

    A Frenchy on a XB12S

Alright gents, here are some big updates on the bike! Thanks to all the precious advice (and parts!) from you guys, the XB is now doing pretty amazingly well. It literally is day and night between the moment I bought it and the ride of today. It went through the 25,000 miles service and got a...

    MOTOGP starts today!

A good article about it, with the perfect quote «*MotoGP is a simple championship; 24 riders battle it out on 19 tracks and at the end, Marc Márquez wins*» https://jalopnik.com/heres-why-you-need-to-be-following-motogp-which-kicks-1823752617

    Anyone ever use heated gear?

I tried a lot of gear for winter riding (heated grips and all layers possible), it was okay until a certain point. Weirdly enough the best things I ever had to really make a difference were some random hot pads I once brought back from a trip to Japan. https://matcha-jp.com/en/5325 I’d put...

Engine running too lean for over 4 years

Stock ECM / K&N + Jardine: engine running too lean? Hi peeps! After some research on the background of my XB12Scg (‘05), I discovered that no adjustments were made on the ECM after installing the high flow air filter (K&N) and the Jardine exhaust... in 2013. I made extensive research on the...

    A Frenchy on a XB12S

@lunaticfringe: thank you for the good information, and again for the two O-rings! Really much appreciated. I'll update you guys once I've checked all grounds as also suggested by njloco, and the fuel openings if anything. To bring a precision to the smell sinikl, it's definitely what you...

    A Frenchy on a XB12S

Ha, that's a perfect way of describing it, that's exactly it. I'll think about one of these Big Crank battery in the future then, in the meantime I can use a battery tender keep it charged! Gotcha! I only did it once, yesterday when I checked after seeing the posts in this thread. I usually...

    A Frenchy on a XB12S

Ok that is very good to know. I just went to check and that's weird. When I started to bike, the oil light was on, then when I turn off the kill switch another light turned on (sync. with the pump ignition noise). When I started, the bike did a pretty big misfire and had a second of having a...

    A Frenchy on a XB12S

Et voilà ! I am the proud owner of a XB12SCG :) Fun fact number 1: it started raining as soon as I signed the paperwork. So yeah, I drove back home under the rain... IN LOS ANGELES. Jesus, that's a joke, I came here for the sun! Fun fact number 2, the second I hit my garage, the oil light...
