    Painted Frame Pucks?

Thanks Saftie, he (or someone) did an awesome job on the paint job and cut outs. You can't tell from the pic but the airbox actually goes from a darker gray to lighter as it progresses down and to the side. He had a shark theme going on.

    Painted Frame Pucks?

The orig. owner of my XB painted the pucks silver. They have started to chip over the last couple years but only due to debris, not because of expanding or heat. Not sure what he used to paint them but I would assume Krylon Fusion paint. Here is a pic

    Turn signal help

Hey all, quick question that may be dumb but I haven't done a lot of electrical work before. I picked up these turn signals from American Sportbike for both the front and rear http://www.americansportbike.com/shoponline/ccp0-prodshow/16117.html Front went in just fine but the rear wires are...

What tools to carry on roadtrip?

Depends on how far you are going. In my opinion, if its anything under 500 miles and going through towns/cities, you don't need anything tools for the wheel axles besides the nut that comes in the under seat tool pouch. Chances are you'll be in a populated enough place you can either get a...

    Front exhaust mount part #

Can anyone with a 2009 parts catalog or whatever years match a 2009 (I think 2008+ right?) tell me the part numbers or preferably the size of the front exhaust mount bolt and nut? I have a 2003 parts catalog but they changed the style on the front mount and my 2003 bolts won't work. I know its...

    Rebuilt and now wont start

There is a specific torque sequence you have to do when torquing down the cylinders/head. You should have had to torque down in a three part sequence ending with 45ft lb (if I remember correct). If you didn't do that, you may not have seated evenly on the gasket = leak. I run 15w50 oil in my...

    I went down today. (video)

Sucks to go down, In terms of your turn signal. If it still works, you can glue it back into position. I had those same turn signals, rear one broke to where the nut and thread snapped right at the base. I went to Home Depot and bought this...

Shifter broke at work ... Really need some advice

I carry an extra bolt in my toolbag under the seat, I ran into the same issue last year. Stopped at a light with the g/f on the back and found my shifter dangling, stuck in 2nd gear. Limped it a mile and then killed it at a light when the cager infront of me couldn't decide if he was going to...

    Breather re-route minus catch can

I stand corrected...I figured there was a reason people were putting a catch can and breather but apparently not. My bad...listen to everyone else :)

    Breather re-route minus catch can

While i havent done this mod, the main reason for the catch can is to prevent the mixture of water and oil from getting on your rear tire (or anywhere else on the bike). You may think about adding a small stopper or catch just in case.

    Footpeg bracket removal

I just use an extension and a swivel socket. Definitely a pain in the button but once you do it a few times its easier. Just have to get the swivel socket at the right angle. The trick mentioned was probably just adding longer nuts. There were a few people that had luck doing so but I...

    Surgical Clean

When I cleaned my bikes (ride more than I clean now lol) I used armorall on my seats. The trick I found was to apply it a day(s) before I was going to ride again. After applying it, wipe it down with a clean rag. You definitely don't want to ride immediately after wiping it down but after a...

    ECM SPY question

I always just take her out and ride for about 10 min after the tps reset, keeping it under 3k. What do you mean by closed loop ride Squid? Do you mean continue to keep ECMspy hooked up while you ride?

    Rocker box gaskets?

I just put new top end Cometic gaskets in...seem to work just fine. The fact they are rubber coated metal gaskets sells it for me...god I hated scraping the orig gaskets off
