    Looks great, Marc! Thanks!

Real life input on fastener replacement?

Stainless is fine for most all fasteners on the XB. I have replaced most of mine with 18-8 stainless and a few of the more critical ones with 316 fasteners, and many have been on the bike for over 10 years. If you are worried about galvanic corrosion.....don't be. You won't have any issue with...

    1203 crank coming my way

Fuel injectors are the same between the 9 and 12. You won't need to replace them.

    clutch noise

The play shown in your video is normal. If the bearing race and rollers are in good shape, there is no issue.

    OMG, hahahaha....

Ya, sorry guys, I was lazy. I should have just posted the picture. I'm sure that was one of those "I don't really know what this is or does but I think it would perform better like this!" kind of mod.

Anyone see the issue here? http://www.ebay.com/itm/2006-BUELL-FIREBOLT-XB9R-XB-9-R-VALVE-COVER-BREATHER-HOSE-TUBE-SHELF-WH-/272036011752?fits=Make%3ABuell&hash=item3f569c1ee8:g:gPsAAOSwYHxWOUJc&vxp=mtr

    New piston ring break in?

Your plan will work well. It really depends on the finishing work done on the cylinders and the type of rings. A lot of new factory car and motorcycle engines come with synthetic oil and rings seat just fine in no time. I have done both, used HD non-synthetic and Screamn' Eagle Syn3 to break in...

    evolution of this forum

I have spent a lot of time tuning XBs, both mine and others. ECMSpy and TunerPro are both excellent tools and the latest ECMSpy for Mono is great too but I have not spent much time using it. I look forward to working with it more in the near future as I reinstall the DDFI-3 ECM in my DDFI-2 XB...

SCG to S height? How to?

In addition to the rear shock, you will need S or R front forks (same between the two) and sidestand to complete the swap. You shouldn't try to clamp the Scg forks higher. While you can gain a little height from it, you won't be able to gain enough.

    2010 Oil Check Procedure

I don't think the bikes are the ones with the quirks...it's the owners. There is nothing magical or extraterrestrial about the XB oil system. Oil will weep over time into the engine as the bike sits. The oil system will return the oil to all the right spots once the bike is running and warmed...

    Buell Frame and Swingarm Durrability

I would never recommend that stunt cage for a daily rider. It mounts to the frame AND the front motor mount, which puts the rigid cage between the rubber mounted motor and frame.

Turbo Buell XB12S - 7 months of work coming to the end

I'm surprised you saw that much power through the Evolution Industries clutch. Which clutch springs do you have installed? The strongest springs Evo Ind could supply me with was only good for ~130 ft-lbs of torque, which you would have to see that kind of torque at a really high rpm (~7500rpm)...

Turbo Buell XB12S - 7 months of work coming to the end

Bike looks great, Ravven!! Share some dyno charts and boost levels!! How well were you able to get everything dialed in with the E85? Have you put enough miles on it to calculate fuel efficiency (mpg)?

    xb12 factory race engine

Sorry AZmidget. Yes, the last 6 digits of the VIN and engine number match on stock bikes but not the entire engine number. I'll take some pics of my 3.6 case this weekend and post. I'll show comparisons to stock XB cases so the differences are clear.

    xb12 factory race engine

The 3.6 cases were the only special cases from the Buell Race Dept. They had other "Race Use Only" cases but they were the same as the factory cases. Any differences were a result of the engine builder modifying the cases to suit their build. The 3.6 cases have a trap door transmission, two...

    xb12 factory race engine

Yes, Buell had "3.6" factory race motors. They were made for the Formula Xtreme class. I have an unfinished 3.6 engine case. They used a crankshaft with a slightly shorter stroke (3.6") than the XB12 and had a few other neat differences compared to the stock XB engines. The engines did not come...

    XB9R chain conversion problem.

Never use a half link. They are not strong enough for the power of these motors (or any 300cc+ bike). The Grandstands idler will not adjust far enough for certain sprocket combinations. You will need to change both the front and rear sprocket to achieve the gear ratio you want and allow the...

    Burned a valve....

ich, can you respond in English? I don't know German and Google translate makes nonsense out of your response. I'd like to understand what you post. Thanks!
