2 consecutive bearing failures. I need help bad

I talked to the mechanic on the phone. He seemed to know off the top of his head (at 11pm no less) the procedure of doing this. Tighten, loosen, then retighten to a lower torque. He said 100 ft lb and then to 65ft lb. I don;t know if he actually hit it at those numbers but that was what he said...

2 consecutive bearing failures. I need help bad

guys how should I try to handle this at the shop? I've had them servicing my buell since the beginning of last year and I cannot say I've ever had any bike related issue (tire patches don't count). They serviced my harley and they are on a first name basis, small father/son business, build race...

2 consecutive bearing failures. I need help bad

Any other parts that could cause this to fail? Its a brand new skf bearing. Theyve worked on my bike for a while now. The old one lasted 6k miles and they failed because of water damage due to frequent washes, my theory. I dont wanna walk in and blame the mechanic about sequence of tightening...

Not a new owner, but new modifier, need help.

lol OP says ST paul doesn't have it, you literally pop a link to it on their website. I can also confirm I ordered this exact kit for my xb12r and it bolts right up perfect.

Rear wheel wobbling side to side!!!

The day it failed? Picture perfect weather. 75 degrees, not a cloud in the sky. Tar snakes? I'm not sure why this would affect anything. But I don't think so.

Rear wheel wobbling side to side!!!

I replaced the rears last year with a rear tire change. Basically one year and 6000 miles ago according to my receipts. Any idea why the bearing would fail so fast? I ordered it from St Paul Harley Davidson, the full bearing kit. Is it something I did? Is it something my mechanic could've done...

Rear wheel wobbling side to side!!!

Wheel bearing is basically destroyed. I dont think the axle is cooked. I can see the bearing is destroyed. This is scary. I couldve crashed from that if i didnt pull over so quickly. Ive heard of people locking the wheel up and getting run over

Rear wheel wobbling side to side!!!

I can depress the belt and the wheel will twist. Belt is looser than usual. If you grab the rear sprocket with your hand you can twist the rear axle

Rear wheel wobbling side to side!!!

Under load it makes a bad noise. The whole bike was shaking. The rear wheel is dancing and wobbling. I pulled over into the nearest park and called a tow truck. It was terrifying. I am not sure what it is, insticts tell me a wheel bearing is blown but what do you guys think?

How do we remove the chin fairing without damaging it?

It does come off if you push down and forwards after removing the bolts. The thing is, some of those t27 bolts were harder to reach or hard to set up the nut behind while using one finger or two. By eliminating the need to remove the whole assembly, I can make the removal much simpler. Now to...

How do we remove the chin fairing without damaging it?

All 6 of those small pan head screws replaced what used to be rivets. So yes, all 6 holes had rivets in them. Is this how they come stock? Also not sure what you're talking about with bosses on the muffler or whatever. The bike came that way, had a jardine can when i got it. Sounds beefy too

How do we remove the chin fairing without damaging it?

Ok guys I'm just gonna give you the skinny on this situation. I suggest you XB owners also follow suit because its a good QOL upgrade. I removed the whole chin spoiler, drilled out the rivets. I made my repairs to the plastics. I JB welded a metal strap, and a 6-32 bolt across the crack on the...

weird noise on warm startup, VIDEO INSIDE!!!!

I have removed the grounds and sanded them down. Sanded down their mating surfaces, checked the terminals for looseness. The battery is fine. I have an on board voltmeter and it's always hanging at 14 volts while riding. It measures 12.7 volts after sitting overnight, which is a very good...

weird noise on warm startup, VIDEO INSIDE!!!!

I've never had a no start situation, just FYI. The battery is about a year and a half old, starter, I have no idea. I have 2 questions: 1. sometimes on a warm start it almost sounds like the starter is skipping a tooth on the flywheel, the engine will fire but for a moment or two it's idled...
