    Chin fairing bolt pattern question

Anyone know the specs on the two bolts that go through the front of the chin fairing and in to the front of the muffler?

Went On My First Buell Cruise

Too bad you guys are all the way in Houston. I'm in Austin and would love to find some locals to ride with as well. Looks like you guys had lots of fun. Congrats.

You might be a Buell owner if...

-if you just can't understand why Buell currently ramping up to build consumer bikes again isn't considered a major national news story on CNN.

Are there any chrome plating shops in Austin TX besides Cen-Tex?

Anyone have recommendations on a descent & inexpensive chrome shop in Austin? I have two exhaust tips I'd like to get chromed and Cen-Tex wants $100 to do it. Hell, for less than $200 I can get an entire Hawk muffler redo. Internet/Google searches are not helping at all. Thanks in advance for...

Frankenstein my muffler: Yea or Ney?

I think I may give it a try then. If I royally screw it up then I'll definitely go the Hawk route. I just don't like the look of any of the little, round, plain cans, stock looks so much better but really want that low sound so... Now on to question #2; on a '09 XB12Scg is there any...

Frankenstein my muffler: Yea or Ney?

I absolutely love the sound of the Hawk Performance muffler (as per the “Jardine vs. Hawk” youtube video posted by Blaylock1988)Hawk exhaust sound ...and think it’s a very fair price but I’m currently considering the idea of going Frankenstein on mine and see what happens. How bad of an idea is...

    painted wheels

Seth, what is that bazooka of a muffler? Did you buy that at a military garage sale?

    looking to buy 2010 xb12scg

Oh, BTW, mine had pretty deep scratches in the air box cover too but my neighbor is a pretty talented body guy and he buffed them out like glass for $30 including the wind screen. I'd think you should be able to get the same deal by asking around.

    looking to buy 2010 xb12scg

I'm in agreement w/ most of the guys here, all mods should be 'returnable to original' if at all possible. The previous owner of mine chopped the tail which I'm fine with but other than that I'm going to try and keep most/all mods bolt on. I just picked up my 09 scg a month ago for $5,500 w/...

RSS = it's all in the details

THOUGHT I ordered the right side scoop for my 2009 Xb12 from Buellparts.com last week. Got it in Friday afternoon, opened the box, nope, stock left scoop. I ALREADY HAVE ONE OF THOSE, IT'S ON THE BIKE. Crap. Called them they said they'll exchange it for the right part. Dropped it off at FedEx...

New rider....new Buell owner. Love it!

Welcome Crowned. Very nice looking bike. I'm new to cycles and Buells as well so you're not alone. Everyone on this forum is always very helpful so don't be shy about questions /advice requests. First mods: trash the stock mirrors and get bar ends then chop that tail. I just wrapped my header...

Sunday morning project = DEI Titanium header wrap

Nope, no need to remove the headers, just the chin fairing. Was able to get all the way up to the cylinders pretty easily. With the titanium wrap no need to soak ahead of time, already pliable.
  14. D

How should I wrap these headers???

Completed mine this morn. Burn off took about 5-6 min to stop smoking.

Sunday morning project = DEI Titanium header wrap

Took about 1 1/2 hrs. Used about 40ft total. Completely worth the effort. Love the look.

    Newbie asks: Helmet recommendations?

Well, so I finally ended up going with a Bell Vortex (matte black/lrg) + the 'Transitions' auto-darkening screen. The padding has compressed a little more than expected so I'm ordering the medium pad set so I can get exactly the right fit. I was originally headed for the Scorpion 500 but after...

    XB Navigation & iPhone charger

So my project for today was to make my XB Lightning iPhone friendly (primarily navigation) for those longer road trips. This means weatherproof of course. I bought a standard 12volt power point for $9 (local Cycle Gear). For a bracket I (heavily) modified a 90 degree angle bracket for plank...

    Newbie asks: Helmet recommendations?

CrazyTexan: I'm going to have to check out Pink Gorilla, looked them up on the web, well done site. I'm liking the Scorpions you guys are recommending and the prices are very descent. I may be heading in that direction.
