    painted wheels

I plan on leaving the polished lip, and painting the rest black. But i also want to use a fine grit grinder and grind all the "spoke" edges and leave them polished/aluminum with the clear coat. I saw Roland Sands ducati with black/polished spokes and like it alot.

    big problem

I think they may go into "skip spark" mode when too hot to conserve itself and keep heat from damaging it. May get knock or rattle from hi temps at low rpm and high load too. Fix that fan issue!

    painted wheels

Thanks for the info. Tires will be off & I change my own tires so I don't need to worry about scuffing the paint. Black does look best, thanks for the pics!

High outside temps and hanging idle.

I have ebr ECM & it does this too. I kinda like it for cornering tho, I don't have to blip the throttle.. [smirk]

Thinking of painting my wheels and was hoping some members could post pics of their Buells with painted wheels. My bike is yellow, so I was thinking black or white wheels and wanted to see what it might look like before i do it. Thanks in advance and any tips on paint or how to do it is...

    Too aggressive with the wrench

Heli coils are pretty straightforward and easy to install. If you can use a drill and tap you got it covered. I installed heli-coils in 2 of the rocker arms in my 3400 v6 montana last year. still hangin in there.

Post up about your high milage ODO

65 600kms. Replaced crank bearing at 53 125, also did rings, gaskets. 03' xb9s :) race can, k&n, ebr ecm. Suspect previous owner neglect for bearing issue.

    Engine rebuild parts questions

I bought the complete engine gasket kit from Harley. Came with every gasket needed. You'll need a steel bar to wedge the primary and crank sprockets in order to loosen the nut. You do not need to remove the front belt pulley to split the cases. Be careful when using another right hand...

    Quick seat rail question

My right side rail is broken for the pass. peg too. From a low side and previous owner. Priced it out at Harley, it was around 200 bucks and a couple weeks to get it. I just put in a regular bolt/nut and all is well.
