    bobber kits/conversion for an 03xb9

    i would just buy a buell motor and build/buy a bobber type frame, not much else to it. bobbers are supposed to be your ideas made by you. not a kit. way easier and smarter than messing up a good bike.

    thanks for the tips. i have a temp lazer at the shop i will grab it in the morning and take some readings. what should it read after a ride round-a-bout? or i guess a better question what temp should the fan come on?

    just to kind of up date.. rode to work today and on the way home it was 66F and i rode around a little on the way. the fan never came on. when the fan came on yesterday it was a few degrees cooler and i came straight home. weird but i guess i will see if it comes on tomorrow.

    well now i am not sure at all. i did all the tests the service manual said to and from what it said, i needed an ecm. BUT in my search i found after you do the tps reset you set the idle around 1000 rpm... mine idles around 600. never thought much about it, i just figured it vibrated loose or...

    i bought my buell about 2 months ago now (07 xb9s) and my fan has not came on yet. didnt think too much about it until i went riding with a friend (he has a xb12r) and his fan was coming on when we stopped. so i bought a service manual and started testing. its telling me my ecm is bad. sucks but...

    Fan woes:

    stick the ground wire at the fan with a jumper wire and ground to battery. if it comes on it could be the ecm. just did the same test on mine and need an ecm. hope this helps.
