    Rear brake question

    Change brake fluid every two years or every one year in high humidity states. Motul is my favorite it has the highest boiling point I have seen to date.

    Why did they design it to run so hot?

    Emissions I think. Bike has no cat, lean fuel curves, and has higher operating temp to help aid in complete combustion of all gases. Right side scoops,higher flow intakes, higher flow exhaust, and better fuel maps help with most of the symptoms. Have not tried the header wrap but most people say...

    I would remove the front shield and see if you can remove it from there, I would think it is possible I worked on my friends Xb12 the other day diagnosing a short and it was easy to remove then. i am thinking it will be simple enough this way.     89 Octane cause engine light?

    Sounds like maybe just bad gas, or another complete separate issue but yes check the plugs.

    If the bolt that goes into the frame ripped out the threads, yeah total loss I can see. If it wasn't damaged then no ask for a detailed parts list and price cost. Then look up blue book. If it isn't even close then call them out on it.

    Any other Buellers with bad backs?

    I blew 2 disc in my back when I was 23, I'm 34 now. I just have to be careful about what I do and stay stretched and limber. Having a lightning helps with the ride position for sure. Sorry to here about your lay-up rest well and get better soon.
