    I understand not lugging it and hammering bearings. I don't understand how running nearly 3,500 rpm in 2nd is "lugging" this bike. Seriously, am I supposed to tell my sister to never upshift until at redline? Heck, look at Buell's suggested shift points (for cruising, I assume)...

    03 blast stalling issue

    Check your tank vent line, for kinks and clogs, check for loose plug, or loose plug wire, check das boot and and if all is good, start to suspect your ignition. EZ

    Make sure all drum pins the same size, replace detent plate and clip,chamfer/round the edges of the stator wire protection plate, do shift pawl with correct size drill bit - very important, do primary adjustment last by sound method. EZ

    To Do the Shift Pawl you want to at least be in 3rd - vice grips and some towl rags will get you there gently with a little rocking. EZ
