Need help to bike running at peak and other questions, issues

Your TPS and AFV look nearly identical to mine with the same setup. If the bike runs fine, it may just be your driving habits. Or you need more air in the tires.:D

Need help to bike running at peak and other questions, issues

Yes. You changed exhaust systems, yes? What's your current reading?

Need help to bike running at peak and other questions, issues

To summarize, your only current problem is shitty gas mileage? The bike runs great? When you reset the TPS, did you also reset the AFV?

Anyone need oem saddle and trunk bags for XB?

AFAIK, the Lightning set doesn't use a brace, the Firebolt does. Those bags in the ad do not look like Firebolt bags, so I don't know what may be missing. If anything.

    Speedometer signal to ECM

The factory speedo tester specs equate frequency to speed. For example, 60mph = 1365, 100kph = 1443. Pulses per second I'm sure are the values. See your service manual.

Any other Buellers with bad backs?

Yeah, that is what was asking. As far as a link, here is one: http://www.tempurpedic.com/ There are others, but that one came to mind, they advertise heavy here. mmcn49, did you sleep reclined or flat?

Any other Buellers with bad backs?

Have any of you with back problems tried one of the hi-tech beds we see on the tube? Just curious if they are worth the hype?

    High octane...always???

114 octane did not cause that failure. I would bet money on that.

revs not dropping quickly on '03 xb9

If you moved down 8000 feet, just go ride for an hour and give the bike half a chance to acclimatize. Depending on the year, just turning the idle down a hair may solve it.

    starter removal

Can't post a link for some reason. Google 31390-91 starter and you'll get a number of hits. F looks like the latest revision.

    Clogged Brake Line?

Phuck. Last gasp - snap some vise grips on the clevis and give it a yank down. Did you check the line to the reservoir? That's the only path to vent the thing.

    Clogged Brake Line?

Pull the pin from where the lever connects to the master. Does the lever fall down? Is the brake released on the wheel? And my last guess, is the line from the reservoir clear?

    Clogged Brake Line?

Can you move the lever at all, up and down? I only have ~ 3/8" depression with a heavy lean on it. I could stand on the lever and get maybe 1/2". The travel isn't much, and is normal.

    Clogged Brake Line?

By coming up hard, do you mean you can't even wiggle the lever? It should at least rattle a bit. Just guessing here...

    White plastic problems

I haven't tried it on plastic, but Finesse-It is killer for scratched paint. It doesn't need high speed or force to work well.

    Oil Leak question????

Carry a quart with you and add a bit when it is at the bottom mark. And try checking it only when hot, on the side stand. I guess what I'm saying is let it run down a bit and see if it stops spitting and consuming so much.

    Oil Leak question????

Are you overfilling it? You generally don't get that much blow-by without seeing exhaust smoke also.
  19. L

    soo...

LOL, it's not everyone who'll admit to throwing pieces and oil on the road. Just don't pick up hot exhaust pieces is my rule.
