    Sudden Increase in Fuel Economy

Kind of surprised you mpg was that low to begin with. Done anything with the muffler, intake or ecm? I average 50-52 mpg at my general riding pace in the mountains and I average 58-60 mpg at a mellow pace. Lowest I've ever gotten was 47-48 mpg and that was doing 85-90 mph through Kansas on...

    2-stroke oil experiment.

I've been adding 1.5-2oz of Marvel Mystery oil to my tank for the last 20,xxx miles. Very happy with the quieter fuel pump and how much smoother the bike seems to run.

    urban assault seat

The only reason they say to take the pegs off is because the urban assault seat is not rated for a passenger. Even has a nice imprint on the seat . It's just some legal bs, leaving the pegs on will not affect anything.

Any power at highway speeds in fifth gear??

Your not getting enough air, fuel or spark. I'd start with checking the air filter, spark plugs and fresh tank of gas.

    urban assault seat

Because of the shape of the urban assault seat I can get more of my foot on the ground then I can with a stock seat. It's less then 1/2in taller and has a little more narrow profile.

    urban assault seat

I love the urban assault seat on my Ss:D I think it's more comfortable then the stock seat so the only time I ever have the stock seat on is when I have a passenger.

    Moto-777 Levers?

All you have to do is compare the stock lever to they new one, then do a little filing as needed. My "cheap Chinese" brake lever needed a tiny bit of filing to get it to match the stock lever. ~10,000 miles without an issue.

    Goodyear falcon drive belts

I am currently running this belt http://www.bdl-sales.com/135T-1-18-CARBON-FIBER-BELT_p_130.html Factory belt snapped at 10,000, replacement from dealer lasted less then 5,000 before it developed a crack between 2 teeth. Carbon belt is at ~15,xxx and is still in great shape...... No belt...

    Stutters in rain

My XB12Ss had the open air box mod and a paper filter when I got it, ran poorly in the rain due to the filter getting wet. Switched to a K&N and it solved my problem.

    Air pressure

Wow....... Reviving a thread from 2011:) Tire pressures in the manual are for factory tires and just cruising around town. I run my Michelin tires at 32psi front/34psi rear on warmer days and 32psi front/30psi rear on cooler days. When I went through a few sets of Pirelli I found that they...

    Broken rear axle!

You should be able to stick a small propane torch inside the axle to heat it up from the inside, minimal chance of messing up paint. Could also try wedging something inside the axle that you could grip with a wrench. Bet the shop didn't use a torque wrench, they just cranked on it.

    Broken rear axle!

WOW........... Only thing I can think of to try, heat the axle on the brake side then try to spin it with a chisel and hammer.......

Golden Gate Canyon, just outside of Golden, Co. I live at the top, have to ride canyons to get anywhere:D:p Most roads are a lot more open on the western side of the state.
