    Central PA (dirt road) riding

A group of friends are meeting on Sunday, July 31st at 10:15am at the Martin Oil Gas Station just West of Mount Union PA (near Motel 22), located on US 22. We are planning to do about 50-60 miles of fire roads and whatever trouble we can find in the State Forest Roads/Mountains in the general...

SPOTTED THREAD: Pittsburgh/WPa; all Buell models

hey, didn't spot any Buell's this weekend, but did see a KTM ADV 900 and some DUC's with fully decked-out riders. KTM sighting was on PA 31 by the DQ at Donegal and the DUC's were deep in WV near rte 220. which brings me to; if you've got the time and interest, please take your Buell to US...

haha, I ride 528/franklin road (north past Evans City) and those whereabouts all the time. I have a TT and I enjoy all the bumps and ruts, makes the ride way more fun! I'm actually trying to find more dirt roads now, since the paved ones are mostly boring. although, I am going to try to head...

Swapping out an XB12TT seat for an XB12R or XB12S?

before making any rash decisions, I'd spend some saddle time on the sTT seat. I regularly do 200 mile days on my sTT and find it very comfortable. The advantage is that it has many ways to slide around and sit on it since it's basically a bench. however, it does look rather simple and because...

    I want a Ulysses!

I do not have a ULY, but rather the sTT (which is close, but not the same). I love riding the macadam, but always find myself looking for interesting dirt side roads to explore. It basically (nearly?) doubles your opportunities since you can ride both paved and dirt roads....and get away from...

    kickstand bolt broke today

can someone (additional posters) confirm that this indeed is a common problem? I am on a budget and don't want to spend the money unless if necessary. however, if it's "just a matter of time" (looking for everyone's input here) - I will replace it sooner than later. thanks, wes

Good Western PA hooligan roads: on sunday, I rode up 28N to just past Kittanning (boring!) - except for the 5 mile section north of Kittanning. Anyway, took back-roads over to, Dayton, Porter, Plumville, and PA 536 (to just outside Punxsy) and then around Covode, Valier, Smicksburg and then Rte...

there are some good blowout deals available on Ducati 1100 Hypermotards (leftovers). A friend of mine owns a dealer in TX if you are interested. He just sold a leftover/new 08 Hyper at cost. I spent a day logging 100 miles on one and they are pretty fab in many ways. Not as brutish at the...

edit:...as to our 140 odo; at the end of the ride we got on i-70/79 at washington PA and road the interstate back into Pgh city proper, so that's about 30 miles (possibly 40) of highway riding right there.

simple solution: mod-out your xb9 into a hooligan bike; loud, mean, hot and stripped down. then get a ULY or TT and use it for long distance and adventure riding.

140 on my ODO after our ride on Saturday. Total elapsed time was just a hair over 3 hours including a 15 minute rest stop. ...and yes, that HAWK was ringing in my head as well (and you were 4-5 bike lengths behind me most of the ride)! Sounds awesome, but for longer rides - pretty loud! w

Upthemaiden and myself had a nice Saturday morning of running up/down/around PA 231, PA 221 & WV 88 and an assortment of unnamed back roads between Avella, Bethany (WV), Taylorstown and Claysville. Great day for riding as temps were in the mid 60's and topped out at 70 by the time we got home...

if it's straight out raining, i won't be going. if it's overcast with the "threat" of rain, i will probably go. i did a nice ride a couple sunday's ago where it looked like impending thunderstorms, but i managed to toggle my route depending on where I saw dark clouds (was at the mercy of the...
