Continuing Saga: O4 XB12R AFV Dropping

Cooter, After running the bike with a the open loop done correctly, it ran fantastic. I masked the 02 sensor, but it is still throwing rich codes. Thoughts on this one?

I checked my email communication from Buelltooth. This was the response I got from them. Buelltooth Tech stated, "Install this file and set it up for open loop at 100 if you’re at or near sea level. If it doesn’t run well then you probably have a mechanical issue. I went ahead and went to...

Cooter, Thank you for the heads up. I absolutely did not turn off the 02 sensor. I walked through the steps. Easy enough. I am looking forward to putting the bike back together tomorrow and seeing if this makes a difference in the AFV issue. It should.

I spent the day throwing paint around. Some success and some failure but ALL of it was fun! Here is the result! If anyone likes, I can share the steps taken to make it happen. I will be redoing the pass seat cover. STUPID me rushed the paint and did not let it set up long enough. Oh Well...

34nineteen, that is what I thought would make sense, but I am too new to this to be entrenched in my thinking. I am eager to hear Cooter's explanation as well.

Sorry Cooter I did not answer your question. The tune they sent me was: BUEGB_RT1_XB12.xpr. I have the original tune backed up and have not gone back to that as I felt the one uploaded did a good job. Thoughts? Is there a better tune out there? I am new to this obviously, so I don't know...

I bet that is what is going on. Can someone walk me through the steps to lock out the AFV with the Buelltooth App? I will read up on it, they have good tutorials, but I like to have as much info going into this as possible. Thanks for your reply.

Hello again everyone, Here is an update to my new-to-me project bike with 68K miles. It is running strong yet leaning out over longer hauls and seems to be doing this at a quicker pace by the day. I have put roughly 200 miles on it since the cluster/light repair took place. I ride in...

Is this bad will it damage anything?

My two cents- You asked... Find it. You are on a bike and road rash isn't too far off if it gets into a place it doesn't belong. I would play it safe always. I would do as Endopotential suggests. Happy hunting.

    04 XB12R- 64K Electrical Issue

I HAVE BLINKERS! Thank you to Rays and Lunatic for their expert guidance. ALL credit goes to those two! As a reminder- this bike is new to me, and now that the cluster works, had 68086 miles showing. It now has 68186 miles as it got a 100 mile workout today. I plan on an eventual frame of...

    04 XB12R- 64K Electrical Issue

Lunaticfringe, In reference to the no turn signal situation with this bike, this is the flasher that came on the bike. Is this not compatible with this bike? I ran through a battery of tests that Rays had PM'd me, and everything tested correctly. The only thing I can think is that since...

    04 XB12R- 64K Electrical Issue

Thank you! Looking at it now and will jump on that in the morning. I took the turn switch apart tonight and made sure everything was clean and functioning correctly. No issues wire wise in the housing, but was pretty dirty. It did not solve the open circuit problem. Tim

    04 XB12R- 64K Electrical Issue

With the front blinker wires disconnected (and any ground shorts removed) measure for zero (or close to it) ohms from the rear blinker connectors to the indicator switch, the instrument cluster plug and the disconnected front blinker wires as shown in the circuit diagram. The multi-wire splices...

    04 XB12R- 64K Electrical Issue

Ray and Lunatic, I disassembled the instrument cluster, cleaned the circuit board, cleaned the harness connections and plugged it back in. To my surprise, it cycled and all the lights came on. Good news. I am reinstalling it now, and hoping that it helps out the turn signal concern. I still...
