    Fuel Mapping Tuning

IMO, the D&D is an underrated exhaust. As with most intake/exhaust modifications, best gains or performance enhancements are achieved through tuning. I've gone through many tuning iterations over the 10 years that I've had my D&D on my '04 12R and am now completely settled and satisfied with it...

    Anyone using EBR cain rub

XBBrad, if you're asking me for picks- Sorry, went back to belt for now until I figure out a better means of mounting the chain rub and a decent chain tensioner.

    Anyone using EBR cain rub

You didn't mention what year your bike is. I have the EBR chain rub and while it sort of conforms to the swingarm contour on my '04 XB, it's not an exact, perfect fit, and doesn't lend itself well to a suitable means of affixing it to the swingarm. The EBR web store says it works with all years...

    Wheel bearings at tire change?

Inspecting the bearings should be a part of every tire change, but only replace as needed. Remember, the bearing race surfaces in the wheels suffer a bit a wear each time you remove/install bearings, meaning that there is a finite number of times you can replace the bearings before the races are...

calling all electrical wizards - parasitic battery drain - '08 XB12Ss

    1. Got a battery charger? Put an overnight charge on the battery. 2. With your fully-charged battery (12.8 volts static reading), what does your battery voltage drop to while cranking the motor? Does it recover to 12.8 after 15-30 seconds (engine off)?

calling all electrical wizards - parasitic battery drain - '08 XB12Ss

Take the battery to a auto parts store and have it bench/load tested. A voltage reading by itself is a poor indicator of battery health. As Sirius suggested, the battery might not be able to sustain a charge.

    Tuning Question?

Resetting the TPS does nothing to boost performance. At best, it restores function to the proper factory TPS calibration, nothing more. If you notice a difference in "performance" by having to repeatedly reset your TPS, it's either a placebo effect, or you've got something wrong somewhere that's...

    When To Replace Battery?

If in doubt, take your battery to Autozone, Advance Auto, or any major auto parts chain and have them bench test it for you. It's basically the same test that Negative described and should give you a confirmation of your battery health. One of the first signs of a failing battery is a consistent...

    XB Operating Conditions

Even with a new TPS sensor and a fresh TPS reset, the actual TPS zero point may still be off if there is any debris in the throttle plate preventing complete closure. Try cleaning up inside the throttle plate area, do a fresh TPS reset and see if anything changes. Another thing that could...

Sorry to see ya go, Sirius. You were/are a great board member here. Hope to see ya back.

    Headlights cut out under throttle

Check your ground point on the lower triple clamp. Try removing the securing nut and wires, clean everything up with a wire brush and reassemble. Worth a try and doesn't cost anything. Also check plugs/connectors inline with the headlights for frayed or broken wires, corrosion, etc. - anything...

    ECM Spy Download

A lot of problems I've seen with new ECMSPY setups using new software and/or cables have one or both of these problems: - Missing or wrong drivers for the cable interface - Lack of pin connectivity in deutsch connector (especially on cables bought on eBay) The drivers are available for download...

    Ddm tuning HID kit

If I remember correctly, I have the standard TDR version. I have my delay set to 20 seconds. I remember shopping around looking at other TD units, but some of the cheaper ones were either too bulky, looked cheaply made, couldn't work with the required amperage or didn't have an adjustable...

    Ddm tuning HID kit

I use a Wolsten Tech (www.wolstentech.com) headlight delay. Adjustable delay time (up to 2 min), works great and was easily installed. On my installation, I simply used switched +12V to trigger the delay when I switch my key on. I configured the delay to provide ground to both the hi/low lamps...

    force on xb12 opinions?

The Force setup needs tuning when used on a stock bike, so I'm sure you'd need to tune for a modified motor, otherwise you'll just have a loud, underpowered bike, especially under 3K rpm. Speaking of loud, have you actually heard the Force exhaust? It's definitely one of the loudest exhaust...

    Ddm tuning HID kit

Cutting out when starting the bike, or after the bike is already running? Cutting out when starting the bike is normal, although not great for the ballasts, since you're hitting the ballasts twice with a power-on surge each time you start the bike, and is why some of us install time delays on...

    ECMspy can't connect?

To add to lunatic's post- If you're disassembling the airbox/baseplate to get to inspect the idle adjust cable assembly, you might want to wire brush the threads and apply with some anti-seize to keep it from corroding. Corroded threads will cause the adjust cable to bind up.
