    2009 Buell XB12ss Lightning Long

Thanks amigo. I'm 6'2" but always thought it might make enough of a difference to at least tuck behind on the freeway. Not looking for a touring screen. ZG might be the way to go.

    Amount of Oil??

That's weird. I have an Ss and 2.5 quarts (which includes the 4 oz in the filter) gives me about 3 X's on a hot check.

    2009 XB12Ss for sale, So Cal, $6000

Thanks guys. I just put the grips on before Thanksgiving and was getting ready to do the XB9 gear swap when this all went down. If I could figure out a way around it I would.

    2009 XB12Ss for sale, So Cal, $6000

I can't believe I have to do this, however, one of my kids is in a little hot water with Johnny Law and money would be more handy right now than torque. Unfortunately... Cherry Bomb Red, approx 4600 miles (still riding it), never dropped, always garaged. All maintenance up to date including 5K...

Hate to rub it in on you guys in the snow belt but....

I wore my mesh jacket to work today... liner was just to hot (San Diego).

    Battery of choice?

I bought it through Southern Motorcycle Supply in San Diego.

    Battery of choice?

I replaced mine a few weeks ago with a Yuasa YTX14H. Fit well and has 260 CCA. The connections were slightly different - no problem with hooking it up but it made my battery tender connection a little tougher to fit neatly. Anyway, it was noticeably better than the stock HD battery for cranking...

    Gas cap with a difference!

Baal, one of the Brits posted a pic of a cool little bracket that held an automotive relay and three fuses in one tidy package. Allows you to provide switched power to a number of accessories. Couldn't find anything like it over here so ordered 30 and they were all spoken for (as well as another...

    Gas cap with a difference!

I just honcho'd a much smaller (30 pieces, but cheap) GB on ADVrider.com... still waiting to see what happens with customs. However, I'm not completely frightened about organizing this but let me do some homework on the customs piece.

    Gas cap with a difference!

Gut tells me Rammer's on the up-and-up but if you are concerned, send money through PayPal. They won't screw around about reimbursing you if something happens.

    Changing Levers...hard or cake?

    >how would the brake engage the MC? Isnt that what sits on the left side bar? What he's saying is to check to make sure the lever doesn't actuate the brake in the open position - some aftermarket levers (though I doubt your ASVs will be a problem)need to be filed down a bit.

    XB9 Gear Swap Parts List

Thanks guys.Flaya - not sure I'm going to sell the stuff, normally I hang onto stock parts in case a new owner someday wants to put it back to stock. Red - this has been on my list all summer; wish I could have it done for my 20 Nov track day but likely won't. Should make for a great bike in...

    XB9 Gear Swap Parts List

All, I'm getting ready to do the gear swap on my 09 XB12Ss. Can anyone confirm the parts list? Here's what I think I need: XB9 rotor/sprocket - 30018-08 XB9 chain - 40005-57B Rotor bolt - 4589 (08+ use non-reusable stretch bolt) Primary cover gasket - 25378-02B Service manual also says not to...

Wheel Bearings - Tools and Question

All, I had a local mech install some bearings in an extra set of wheels that I picked up for track days. I normally like to do my own work, but I didn't have any tools for the job and was also running short on time. So first question - where can I get tools? I'm not sure how much the HD tools...

Advice on a Buell for Street and Track Days

First time I took my 09 Ss to the track was my first trip to Willow Springs - and I almost lost it on my second-to-last session. So while I'm still taking it to the occasional track day, I'd probably opt for a Jap 600 that I wouldn't care about crashing if I was making it to the track more...

Tag Metal T2 Bars and Precision Engineering Clamps

kbizzini - check flanders.com; I think they have links for control cables. Or - you can probably go with Uly brake line and throttle cables (though I'm just guessing on that). Flanders also has a table of stock bars - pretty sure the XB is listed. That allows you to see what height/length/sweep...
