Fuel map from Rev-Mo vs IDS

Speaking of baro sensors, I have a GM 3-bar MAP sensor integrated into my DDFI-3 system and when I climb past 6000' elevation the ECM starts throwing codes for baro sensor out of range, etc. I've tried adjusting the transfer function and mapping several times, but obviously do NOT have it setup...

    Water pump housing seeping oil

Y'all ought to let me know if you convene for some kind of riding activity - I'd definitely make a trip to the area and join!

    Belt loss and sprocket options

All good points. I did order this directly from Tucson Harley-Davidson, in person, walked into the store and went to the parts counter. They had to order it from their Vintage Parts division, apparently, but they did have it in stock. The date on the box it came in shows 2019. I think I...

    Belt loss and sprocket options

LOL yeah, something like that! I brought the sprocket into our lab today and showed it to a friend of mine who's also a rider and a composite specialist. He agreed that it's looking pretty rough and even suggested returning it... not sure I would go that far, though. The issue is that the...

    Water pump housing seeping oil

It actually never seeped enough to drip onto the floor, fortunately. Eagle Rider! When I lived elsewhere I would visit and rent from them... good times!

    Water pump housing seeping oil

The Honda is missing some part or something from its single sided swingarm, there's excessive play in it. I did, in fact, trailer the POS back to Mesa where I bought it from and there it remains since last Tuesday. No idea what's wrong with it, but the local dealer here in Tucson said it's not...

    Belt loss and sprocket options

Alright, so here's a question for the group. I have the new sprocket from Harley Davidson and comparing it to the old one, I'm not sure the new one is finished as well as the old one. I'm not sure if the sprocket comparison image will come through with enough resolution, but there appears to...

Fuel map from Rev-Mo vs IDS

Differential girdle springs! Drawn reciprocation dingle arm! I've got an old trusty laptop that I use for all of my datalogging purposes. For the Buells, I've got an old USB interface cable that has a Deutsch connector for mating with the DDFI-3 ECM and has worked reliably for over a decade...

Thanks! I also have some black textured (crinkle) powdercoat, but not sure what to do about the teeth.

    Belt loss and sprocket options

Got ma sprocket in for $208, planning to install it this weekend. I'm going to see if I can refinish the old one as well, not sure what it will take yet, but I guess it would require stripping down and then refinishing to make sure all the teeth were properly coated in enamel.

Fuel map from Rev-Mo vs IDS

While I guess you can use a precanned fuel map, the DDFI ECMs are pretty good for datalogging and adjusting the maps yourself. You do end up having some strange looking wiring routed all over your bike throughout the period you're datalogging, but I feel the end result is much more optimal than...

    Xb12r isolator mount

LOL what a ride that was to read! My first isolator failed at 33,000 miles and I replaced it in 2014. I’ve got about 56,000 miles on the bike now and it seems fine. Still has me wondering when it will go…

    Water pump housing seeping oil

Still seeping occasionally. I think I'm going to chance it and ride the **** out of it up to Greer at the end of the month. I did buy a new Honda CB1000R (2023 model) and that thing has turned into a lemon. At Honda's direct orders, I'm required to trailer that POS back to Mesa where I...

    Belt loss and sprocket options

Good point, will remember to remove the brake before loosening the axle. Regardless of talent and skill, still been known to blow things up from time to time! Thanks again for all the detailed information. Looks like I'll be able to continue riding my XB12Ss, after all.

The rear wheel bearing interchange may be 6206-RS2. I picked up some Nachi bearings that say they're made in India, but the industrial supplier thinks they're good.

    Belt loss and sprocket options

I always use a calibrated torque wrench for everything since my job is working on aircraft, so I don't think I'd be dealing with an overtorque situation, but that pulley has been on for a long time. At one point, many years ago, I had a rear wheel bearing failure and replaced the entire wheel...
