    Belt loss and sprocket options

Finally snapped the original belt on my 2008 XB12Ss and it fortunately occurred right around the corner from my office after a some very spirited riding through the canyons leading to it. The service manual says that any missing coating over 0.25" is subject to sprocket replacement, but they're...

    Water pump housing seeping oil

So at this point, I've driven the thing to work and back several times, hammering on it a fair bit at times while passing or just stretching the legs on a straight. It has stopped seeping. No idea why or what happened there. Maybe it seeps if I'm hammering it hard at high RPM for sustained...

    Water pump housing seeping oil

I haven't approached the techs about this because I've put 6000 miles on the bike since that work was done. If it does need to come apart again, I think I'm going to do the work myself since I've got a few other rides.

    Water pump housing seeping oil

I looked at what I received from the mechanic (who is a former Buell tech) after I asked them to do my last valve adjustment and replace the clutch cover with the 2010 model. The old (2009) clutch cover has the water pump shaft and everything still installed on it, so I'm assuming everything I...

    Water pump housing seeping oil

Haha nice... I knew it was going to be a royal PITA. So initially, the seepage looked like it was oil mixed with coolant. Now, after a hard ride the seepage looks like oil only. Neither the coolant expansion tank or the oil dipstick are showing cross contamination at this stage, though...

    Water pump housing seeping oil

If I do need to order some parts, it looks like the simplest thing to do is go straight to Buell Motorcycles and order from them, is that right?

    Water pump housing seeping oil

Barrett is correct, the cover weep hole... I'll post a pic when I get back to the garage this evening. Admittedly, I've learned how to ride the 1125CR harder, especially with the use of the quickshifter and I'm definitely getting closer to redline during rides. Several other factors may be...

    Water pump housing seeping oil

First off, I have to state my appreciation of the 1125CR. It is an absolute hoot to ride and handles incredibly, sounds awesome and has power wherever it's needed as long as it's above 4000 RPM. I have no idea how much power mine is making, with the only modifications being a K&N air filter...

    Sidestand spring loss

I got both of those parts that Barrett listed from eBay from around $30, new. They were in their original Buell boxes, amazingly enough. Got the sidestand resurrected, but really feel like I need to safety wire the spring clip plate.

    Corbin saddle

Yeah, the windscreen augmentation is accomplished via a Laminar Lip unit specific to the 1125CR. https://www.laminarlip.com/1125cr.php

Haha, seriously? Send me GPS coordinates to your trash, please?

    Sidestand spring loss

All Buell lives DO matter indeed! Now I’m curious if the parts for an XB would interchange with the CR sidestand… I am really not having much luck searching Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, St Paul HD, or eBay for the spring and the S-shaped piece. Understandably, there’s far fewer 1125 bikes...

I thought this is the 1125CR forum? LOL

    Sidestand spring loss

Neither of those assemblies you guys posted links to match the sidestand on my bike. '09 1125CR - are you implying that the spring parts are the same, though?

    Sidestand spring loss

Was riding on the super slab between Tucson and Phoenix, AZ (I-10) and noticed that my sidestand wouldn't stay up once the traffic slowed down to a crawl approaching Phoenix. Turns out that the stand itself is still intact, but the spring and the S-shaped piece that it attaches to is gone...

rough or no start, no idle

Just mentioning that when I purchased my 2008 XB12S brand new from the dealership with 7 km on the odometer, the machine wasn't tuned properly for startup and idle. If the ECM tuning is stock, it might need adjusting to fatten up the startup fueling like mine needed, particularly in cold...

    Options for clutch cable replacement

I finally made contact with a place called Bubbas in Tucson today. No go. They source a lot of cable from Drag Specialties, but do not produce their own. I like the California Push-Pull, Inc. suggestion, that is definitely where we will all be going once HD stock is depleted! The local...

    Options for clutch cable replacement

I stopped by Tucson HD and the parts guy recommended a local cable builder, but I've not been able to reach them by phone after trying them twice. The cable is available from HD still, fortunately, but I'd like to see if I can pull on that local thread. Might need to swing by in person, I guess.

    Options for clutch cable replacement

Absolutely true, in the bin of scrap tubing of all sorts, for sure. Hell I think there might even be some old stainless braid hanging around in there too LOL New cable from Surdyke then, I guess.
