Aussie Breather ReRoute (Success) but questions

I think with the short rear hose that there is an increased opportunity to pull oil through it. I have not measured whether that is the case, but I figured that some symmetry and balance would be a good thing.

Aussie Breather ReRoute (Success) but questions

Basically, if you look at the lengths of the breather hoses coming off each cylinder, you will notice that rear hose is very short and the front hose is much longer. I extended the rear hose (under the airbox base) to match the length of the front hose.

Aussie Breather ReRoute (Success) but questions

I've had the same setup for the past 2 years. It's working well. I extended the rear hose to match the length of the front hose as well. I do not have any oil or other sludge collecting in the airbox at all.

    Dyno time

This is often why it also makes sense to run multiple injectors per cylinder. I believe the 1190RX runs standoff injectors, as do many high performance/race ITB or turbo automotive applications.

    2-stroke oil experiment.

I've been using the Amsoil Dominator in the Buell, and it is as you describe it. The bike moves through 3000-6000rpm with some urgency. In fifth, it rolls from 60 to 100-110mph much more eagerly than when running only fuel.

Sounds like the Amsoil Dominator, which is also red and thinner than the Marine HP.

I prefer using the TCW3. It has worked very well in my vehicles. Give it a try, Gloomshadow. It's time for you to get off that chainsaw/weedwacker shit. :D

    What Type of Oil

From the manual for my 2009: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/28846604/BuellManualOil.PNG It doesn't explicitly say run SAE60 for 80F. It says if your lowest temperature is 80F, go head and run SAE60. It seems that the manual recommendations are based on starting the bike more than...

Repurposed hotel shampoo bottles work too, but they're hardly as cool or interesting. 😉

    2-stroke oil experiment.

In theory, yes. Figure out the size of your tank and use the desired ratio to add the appropriate amount of oil. You'll have to do some calculations, as every vehicle will have a different tank size and different tolerance for the oil. With 2oz in a SS, you'll be fine.

    2-stroke oil experiment.

BTW, I usually put the 2 stroke oil in right before pumping fuel. I feel that the rush of fuel coming into the tank helps to get everything thoroughly mixed.

    2-stroke oil experiment.

I thought the Corvette folks we sticking to the marine TCW3 oil? Granted the Buell may have different requirements being aircooled. I think with the JASO FC or JASO FD (or TCW3), you will get a clean burn and there shouldn't be any deposits left behind. Actually to the contrary, components...

    2-stroke oil experiment.

Naah, I'm only teasing. I'm already running the experiment on my 2009 XB9SX, 2012 Audi A4 Avant and 2002 Jeep Liberty. All three vehicles have responded exceptionally well.
