Any supermoto fans on here? Looking for advice.

You could keep the rims you have and just put some street tires on it. Something more on road than off like a 70/30 or a 60/40. Really depends on where you plan on doing most of your riding.

Woah over a foot. I'm right in the middle (KS) and were supposed to be getting some snow. Wait and see.

Do you own a bike other than the lightning?

2001gsx1300rt. That would be a turbo busa. From one extreme to the other you could say. Oh yeah and a crf50.

I'll test fit a hand guard on to see how it looks. Might keep the grips on for awhile since they're such a pain to install. Still not sure about those? Johnny D, where are you from? I see a snow blower.

The E has the better carb but your going to have softer suspension unless the previous owner has it set up for sumo. Plus you have the wheel issues unless your just gong to ride it as a dual sport?

I think the e is dirt only. So no lights or signals. Might not even have a title to tag it? Unless your in one of the states that you can make a dirtbike street legal?

Well I'm glad I'm not alone on the grips. I do like the bigger diameter so some all black ones will be next. Now to decide if I want to put the hand guards back on?

OK I got them in and the blue is a good color. Only took a couple minutes to plug and play. Got the free grips with them and only put the throttle side on for now. Not sure about it. It is a bigger grip which feels better but I want to hear some input on the look. And the grips are a pain in the...

Ordered a pair yesterday. We'll see how long it takes and what shade of blue they are.

Well there's another option. Strip the outer edge to polish it and leave the center black. Then come tire change time I won't be to nervous about scratched rims.

Hey up, are the outer edges of your rims polished? Looks a little to shiny to be paint.

Direct bolt on? Oh please someone post up where. I assume it replaces what would be the void area from removing the tail light housing? I could keep the cheese grater in tact of I ever wanted it to go back to stock?

I'm thinking of cutting off the cheese grater as well. I saw another bike that they had got rid of the tail light and used led's for the tail/brake light. Wonder what all is involved in doing that. I guess I just found out what my winter project is going to be.

Thanks. That gives me a starting point. I agree the silver lightens it up. If I had a black frame then I'd go for the all black look. I have a guy local that said he'd paint them for 75 each. Not sure how much it would cost to ship two wheels. I think I'll have him paint the seat rails and tail...
