    ECM SPY AND TPS

Thanks so much again rchuff. That small bit of advice made a massive difference to me.

    ECM SPY AND TPS

Great, now my starter won't engage to test it. Going to have to charge the battery in the hopes that that helps.

    ECM SPY AND TPS

Ok, I turned it further anti-clock and reset again, now when I turn it back I can get 5.1% as it hits fully turned in. Hope I'm doing the right thing.

    ECM SPY AND TPS

Fantastic. Thanks so much rchuff. Wouldn't it be nice if they actually mentioned this in their instructions. Now I see the throttle response on screen. Still not quite there. I turn fully clockwise then anti-clock until it reads 0.0 then a few more turns ant-clock. I then do to diagnostics and...

    ECM SPY AND TPS

Can anyone advise me please. I'm trying to reset my TPS. I connect SPY and got some erratic TPS reading changes on adjusting the idle screw but no real time indication while adjusting and no sign of any movement on the RPM gauge in overview if I turn the throttle. I googled TPS sensor testing...

    Greetings from SA!

Carstens, I fixed my rear brake light yesterday. The switch on mine was fine, the connector under the seat on the right of the battery has two very small pins which are fairly susceptible to bad contact. Put a continuity tester on the side of this socket which goes to the switch and see if you...

    Cape Town Tuning

Hi All I had some success yesterday. I managed to get Spy and Tunerpro communicating with the bike. At first it seemed to all go wrong with the engine check light coming on and the fan either running permanently even with the bike switched off and later running intermittently with the key on...

    Cape Town Tuning

Thanks Wally. I called Peter Moller. What a rude man. I mentioned that I had replaced the O2 sensor and the throttle cables and he then said that he would not touch my bike if I had done any work on it myself. Just said he was not interested. I'm going to try Peter Baker. He has a few Buells and...

    Greetings from SA!

Hi Carstens. Just making contact as well. XB12s owner in Cape Town (Newlands) I got my bike in about June and have just finished rebuilding it. Thanks Wally, I am going to try Peter Moller as well. Lets see a pic of your bike Carstens.

    Cape Town Tuning

Can anyone advise/recommend someone in Cape Town who can speak to my bike's brain. ECM SPY seems to be beyond me. After a week of trying to get it to work as well as Tunerpro with one laptop connected to the bike and the other running youtube how-to clips, I think I have mostly achieved a full...

Nearly done. Battling with getting computer to see the ecm. Had to go away last weekend so hopefully I can coax some life out of it this weekend.

    XB12S chassis check after purchase.

Headers are ceramic coated. I hope the paint on the plastics holds. It is just flat black. I tested a matt clear laquer over it but it didn't look as good do going to see how this lasts. The laquer over the stickers would have been better too - edges might peel. Been fighting with ECM SPY all...

    XB12S chassis check after purchase.

Spot the missing seat, sub-frame spacer and brake lever. Tried to have the lever anodised and found that it is Magnesium Alloy and not do-able. Waiting for spacer and seat. Now to set tps and map. First time so wish me luck, it looks complicated but easy if you know how.

    XB12S chassis check after purchase.

I'd better get the right hand one before I am safe to get rid of the left. I found the maker of the bars for you. http://www.protaper.com/products/handlebars/se I'll let you know as soon as I get the other spacer and we can do the swap.

    XB12S chassis check after purchase.

DrogeN Omen - Afraid they were on the bike when I bought it so I have no Idea where they came from. I recently went at the manufacturers decals with white spirit and removed them. If I can find out, I will let you know. Thanks Eric - that makes sense. Just wish I'd asked before doing the job...

    XB12S chassis check after purchase.

Finally got my fuel screen and was able to re-assemble the pump and fit it. Couldn't stop - fitted the wheel, belt, tensioner, hugger, swing arm and sliders as well. Not fun getting the tensioner on with a new poly chain - much levering, squeezing and jacking and got it done. Is there some trick...

Still waiting for a fuel pump screen so that I can re assemble my rear end. I will be at home if you are riding this way.
