    Headlamps and fairing

I am looking to get hold of the original headlamp and bug screen setup for my XB12s. Does anybody have a setup which they might want to swap for the one in the pictures attached. This is what came with my bike and I have swapped it for a Cyclops but would prefer the OEM items with brackets...

    XB12S chassis check after purchase.

Cyclops fitted but would prefer the original. Going to post the fairing which came with the bike to swap for an original headlamp setup.

    XB12S chassis check after purchase.

Looking at this pic again, I think the shock foot at least should be black. Thinking of having the rear brake lever and gear lever black anodised as well. I suppose I should be replacing the shock oil as well (40 000 km) how necessary is this? Anybody have advice to offer on this?

Found valves eventually, had the tire fitted and put it all together this evening and bled the brakes.

    XB12S chassis check after purchase.

Tried to get tire valves today and spent half a day trawling tire shops for the required smaller diameter and deeper reach. No luck yet. Did get a few bits from Harley. (front disc springs, idle cable, clutch lever pin, fuel filter and fuel pump o-rings. The fuel screen is proving fairly elusive...

B77- I drew up the logo in CAD, printed a .pdf and laid it over the vinyl to cut it. Thanks DrogeN Omen but These cost me $5 for a metre of the vinyl and I've got my eye in now if I feel the need for Pegasuses. (Pegasi?). I've drawn them up already. Thanks Shawns. If anybody needs a .pdf of the...

Hey Wally. My email address is: [email protected]. What bike have you got. I am in the Southern burbs - Newlands, near Kirstenbosch so if you are ever doing a Constantia Neck ride, you pass my house. Send me a mail and we can talk.

Vinyl cutting shops refused to cut this textured carbon-look material so I went at it with a knife by hand. Turned out ok.

I'm not quite on the road yet but keen to know if there are others out there.

That silicone thing makes me feel better - thanks for that. I can't find the number on the exhaust header although I have had it ceramic coated so it may have covered the number. I haven't removed the the top rubber flange from the throttle body but sighting a vernier down there certainly looks...

Hi Banshee77. You've got me worried now. The case had been split before my time. I could see traces of the silicone or gasket maker where it squeezed out. Could be that the previous guy painted the covers but it looks like a professional job. (unlike all other jobs done by previous owners). The...

    XB12S chassis check after purchase.

All this waiting for import parts leaves me plenty of time to do the time consuming bits. The flat black spray has turned out well. Can't re assemble my rear end until my Fuel filter and screen arrive - not many other bikes where this would be the issue. Spent the day making and fitting new...

Anyone ever see this happen??? How and why??

Wow Paul. Don't think I'll be able to ride by bike completely at ease again. Thanks for that. Hope you are still intact.

Got my O2 sensor and brake pads this week. Wheels being stripped for re-coat. Tyres on order - have to wait three weeks for: Michelin Pilot Road 3 - 120 / 70 - 17 & 190 / 55 - 17. (going 10mm wider at rear. Bought Philips blue white bulbs for headlights and fitted them. Bought engine oil - Motul...

No, clever man with a lathe did it for me for a lot of money.

    XB12S chassis check after purchase.

Custom slidert machined and ready for fitting. Totally impractical and paddock stand unfriendly but who cares - aesthetics more important.

Dropped my front wheel off at an engineering shop to have the bearings pulled out. Also took my seat to an upholstry man with pictures of the Baldwin Saddles aftermarket item and some car soft-top vinyl. Tried to remove the pad retaining pin from the front caliper last night with no success...

Wow - good spotting WALLSXB. '82 Turbo Esprit. Bought it in London in 1990 and brought it back in bits for reassembly. There is also a Karmann Ghia chassis just behind the bike. I bought two cars and am putting the best bits together. Also building the house on weekends but that's me - too many...
