First time Buyer 2003 XB9R, Noises?

New engine parts are not much problem but if I may suggest getting a back up Front Isolator. To rotate this engine you MAY damage the rubber in this mount (there's no way around it if the bolt has become one with the part) Harley only produces these once a year by pre-order in March, something...

First time Buyer 2003 XB9R, Noises?

Your YT video is all muffler to me, you have to get up close on the engine and try to filter out whatever can that is for exhaust. I would like to have that Buell! I thought the same thing with an 06 Thunderstorm 984cc and took the winter to tear down and do a complete top end rebuild and then...

    Stability issue / wobbly

Not riding 'Cock Sure' uneasy feeling but you don't know what it is .... keep looking. Mine was rear wheel bearings but I see you got that checked off.

    Diagnosing a leak or two

After my top end rebuild I had over tightened one of the allen bolts that secure the pushrod plastic cover at the gasket end. This presents itself as an ever so slight leak at high speeds. Not wanting to tear down again for such a small thing I added the proper amount of this product to the oil...

Trade My Jardine for Your OEM Muffler

Wonder how much life is left in your Jardine. I see eight years old but its the miles on your 2006 that count. No idea why the decals burnt, mine never gets that hot. I don't have a stock exhaust for you my friend so I will shut up. But if you end up needing to unload the RT ONE in the end let...

    A huge thanks to everyone!

That's a jewel I would like to own. Belt, fork seals, wheel bearings, tires. Just a few things I would keep an eye on as you reunite her with the highway. Maybe you've already checked them out, I haven't been in here for a while reading up on cool stories like this.

Brake Rotors - EBR vs Wave?

These are very nice rotor options that look great together on a FireBolt IMO. Plus I tortured both in the bed-in process with sintered pads. They've performed excellent to date but I only have a few hundred miles since swapping out the OEM set TBH. Good luck and please report your experiences...

Loud clunk sound after coming down from a wheelie

Remember those extra bumpers I found in my forks that were not shown in any service manual? Only engaged if bottoming out the shocks. Makes me wonder what it would sound like if hitting the maximum travel without such protection.

Quick questions on new to me Buell!

Congrats for the confidence in a used unfamiliar motorbike to carry you on a 700 hundred mile road trip. I guess i'm just not there yet :) I suspect you are riding with a soft toe shoe and you've some conditioning to do. Proper riding boot or a 'Motorcycle Gear Shifter Shoe Boot Protector' would...

EBR Racing front rotor install instructions

I'm sure I pushed these products to their limits. No smoke, no bluing just a little golden glaze on the outer rim and some paint flake on the edge as seen in the center image. The rotor looks great and I'm very satisfied with Buell brake performance at this point. I would recommend the BRAKING...

EBR Racing front rotor install instructions

The 'BRAKING' rear rotor would seen to have managed the heat better than the Slovo front rotor but it was definitely getting hot after the second 70mph to 5mph leg of the bed-in. I think the procedure originally posted takes the aftermarket rotors to the limit of their molecular composition LOL...

EBR Racing front rotor install instructions

About to bed-in another aftermarket rotor. This time the rear rotor will be replaced with the 'BRAKING' product. New EBC sintered pads will be used for this process using this threads original bed-in speeds and intervals...

EBR Racing front rotor install instructions

The same exact procedure as Cooter researched and the one that burned up the Slovokian steel, NO MERCY! Expecting the EBR rotor to show SOME sign of high temperature... there was nothing to see. Smooth as silk all the way through each stage of the bed-in. A pleasurable experience, this...

EBR Racing front rotor install instructions

Good advice Cooter thanks. The EBR FRONT BRAKE ROTOR, 5MM FINNED (H0201.1B6) arrived very well packaged and presented yesterday. Installed last night and contemplating which of the three bed-in procedures offered in this thread should be applied. I want to go with the OP's recommendations to...
