One week into ownership, I find a crack in the frame - left side engine mounting tab

Just from looking at the pics, it doesn't look like a fatigue crack (a crack from repeated cycles). It looks like a crack from an acute event, such as a high-energy impact or pre-loading of the tab during installation.

Drummer SS and BlueThooth delivering Monday - questions

When did you buy it? Tim at IDS re-did the Drummer SS tune last year because of an off-idle flat spot in the original Buell-developed tune for that muffler. The current tune that Tim developed for the SS is very good. My AFV never deviates more than +/- 2%. If you are having significant problems...

08-09 XB 12 Drummer SS Owners

It was just the Drummer SS as far as I know. The files they were using were from the Buell days, and were dyno developed. There was a slight stumble at low/transition throttle that was smoothed out. I think the Buell tune was more concentrated on dyno/hard-riding than on street/easy riding. It...

    Headlight conversion

I have the Sealight LEDs from Amazon and I love them. They cast a really nice pattern. The low beam is sharp and confined, the high beam is wide. Mod your wiring or switch to have both beams on at the same time for max lighting at night (with no oncoming traffic). No issues or blown fuses after...

    08 Ulysses running terrible

Do a TPS reset and check for ECM grey connector cracking.

    Uly hiccup

Cracked ECM connector. It's common with the Uly and will produce those symptoms. Try idling the bike and wiggle the grey connector. Listen for a change in engine running.

    LED Headlight

I am very happy with LEDs on my Uly. I got them from Amazon https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MRJ41KR/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1. They can be installed with the diodes facing vertically or horizontally. Horizontal produces a MUCH more focused and properly-cutoff beam pattern...

    ZTL2 worth it over ZTL1 ?

I upgraded my XT to ZTL2 and EBR finned rotor. The ultimate stopping power is not necessarily improved. The tire will lock and skid at the same point either way. My biggest noted improvement is in the firmness of the lever and consistency. Maybe my old ZTL1 rig was just worn out, but it always...

    Engine advise

All DDFI2 (2003-2007) and 2008-2009 DDFI3 have a single rear O2 sensor. 2010 DDFI3 has dual front and rear O2 sensors and independent cylinder AFV adjustments.

    Buell Ulysses xb12xt

Please stop. You are either painfully out of touch, trying unsuccessfully to make a joke of some sort, or are purposely trolling at this point. The consensus seems to be trolling. If you don't believe everyone else, do your own market survey. The money is not there. At any rate, please...

    Buell Ulysses xb12xt

There is absolutely NO WAY that you can get anywhere near $11,000 USD for that bike. If everything is in good order, it is $5,000. Maybe up to $6,000 if it has a rare color (Desert Camo) or is in REALLY nice condition.

Faster Idle Clutch Out / Slower Clutch in

2009s do not have a sidestand switch.

Need help with header nuts off inside block

Check the battery connections and all chassis grounds for sure. Check voltage while the engine is running. If it's not charging, you could have a problem with your stator, voltage regulator, or their associated connectors.

    Misaligned drive belt

Could the swingarm bearings be worn? Loosen the axle to unload the belt and try to move the swingarm around in all axes.

    Whining noise

Are you confident that the bearings were replaced CORRECTLY? If the axles are overtorqued, the bearing spacer tube can deform, which could cause side-loading of the bearings.

    Rear brake pads

I have a slight grudge against Lyndall, because they sell a pack of two pads for the 8 piston ZTL2 caliper, but they never mention that it is not a full 4-pad set. However, the product is good. I have the Gold+ pad material and like it. It is organic.

    New member, Buelltooth and ecmdroid

There is no difference between a stock ECM and a "Race" ECM other than the file stored in it. Both can be changed via ECMSpy or ECMDroid.

    Removing rear shock.

Look at my reply on your other thread. You don't have to remove anything. Just spend a little money on a swivel socket set and save yourself a couple of hours.

Need help with header nuts off inside block

You don't need to remove any of that if you get a 1/4" drive ratchet with a long extension and a swivel socket. You can get to all four header nuts (two front, two rear) without removing any parts. I believe they are 9/16".

    Foggy airbox cover

Yeah, Goo Gone and Goof Off are completely different. Goo Gone is citrus oil based. Goof Off is Naphtha (solvent) based. You have crazed your plastic. It is basically tiny micro-cracks caused by the plastic absorbing the solvent. You can try wet sanding and polishing, as long as the crazing...
