    Thanks for the quick reply! I tested the battery again and its down to 10v. So I'll replace the battery. It takes a charge and shows fully charges on the charger, but apparently can't hold a charge. Its been 2 1/2 years since last replacement. I use electrical lube on the connections to help...

    Update: Ok, I got it all back together. I ended up ordering a stator for a 2008 HD Sportster from DennisKirk.com. It fit fine. One of the wires coming directly from the stator is a bit short.     Great thanks. Well I began installing the stator and after using the replacement bolts I remembered reading another post about the bolts not being as low profile and the original. They rubbed and caused problems. So I guess I will need to use the old bolts with loc-tite. I am totally winging...

    Bad Voltage Regulator?

    Thanks for the thread. Helpful. My 08 XB12X blew a headlight, I replaced it and bam both blew. Also having trouble starting with a new battery. Could the Voltage regulator be causing issues with battery power?
