    Neutral Switch Replacement

Dredging up this old thread to simply say thanks to the people recommending needle nose pliers to get the switch out. Mine failed and I thought it was going to be a right mission getting it out, but after reading this I simply tried with some small jawed vice grips and it was all done in, new...

Misfire when engine very hot, error 13 - Rear O2 Sensor always lean

Yes I did measure the resistance and it was out of spec - primary measured 1.1 ohms (should be 0.5~0.7) and secondary measured 12k ohms (should be 5.5 to 7.5k ohms). I measured the new one when it arrived out of interest and it was bang on spec (0.7 and 6.5k). My bike is 13 years old at this...

Misfire when engine very hot, error 13 - Rear O2 Sensor always lean

Sorry for the delay in getting this - I finally had time to do a 45 minute highway loop with the phone on so I could take screenshots. It looks like my AFV is normally 90% - I checked it over a few days multiple times - here it is about 20 seconds after starting the engine at idle: Here it is...

Hey upaero, what AFV am I looking for? I haven't actually looked at ECMDroid since replacing the ignition module, the bike is running great, no check engine errors and no misfire.

Misfire when engine very hot, error 13 - Rear O2 Sensor always lean

I received a care package from St Paul H-D two weeks ago that included a new ignition coil and finally got around to installing it on Saturday. As Monday was a public holiday where I live and the day was nice and hot (around 29°C) I took the opportunity to go for ride - around 440km of slow...

Ullyses for every day use ?

That's exactly what I use mine for too - commuting during the week with 2~3 big multi day trips away throughout the year (+/- 3,000km over 6~7 days with as many gravel roads as I can find). I put about 11,000km on mine per year, just ticked over 100,000km. The biggest problem with using it to...

Uh, yeah, that should be 241°F (damn freedom units ;-P )

Misfire when engine very hot, error 13 - Rear O2 Sensor always lean

Just got back from an hour long ride, it's a nice hot day here in Auckland so a good chance to test the misfire. Of course it didn't misbehave at all, engine ran great, though I did get the check engine light coming on within a few minutes of leaving home and it stayed on the whole time this...

    Xb12r isolator mount

I removed my front mount while doing my rocker cover gaskets and it appears to be slightly shagged - the rubber has started to tear, not noticeable on the bike but you can clearly see it when off, probably about 1/4 of the way through. I see Vintage Parts now has 66 of these in stock but no way...

Misfire when engine very hot, error 13 - Rear O2 Sensor always lean

Completed my engine rotation over the weekend - did rocker cover gastkets, intake seals and fitted a Bosch o2 sensor. As a bonus the bike even still runs after I put it all back together! Took about 11 hours over two days for me to complete. I measured the resistance across the various pins on...

Misfire when engine very hot, error 13 - Rear O2 Sensor always lean

Ah, never realised I could just leave the Buelltooth connected, that makes sense. I usually have my phone on a RAM mount on the handlebars so I'll be able to connect to it very quickly to get live data. I guess my fan is set to speed based? When cruising above about ~20km/h it screams away...

Misfire when engine very hot, error 13 - Rear O2 Sensor always lean

Thanks everyone. I didn't think to check the "live" values while it was happening, mostly because by the time I'd pulled over and popped the seat off, connected the Buelltooth, connected phone to that etc things had cooled off slightly and the error has cleared, it's only listed as an historical...

Misfire when engine very hot, error 13 - Rear O2 Sensor always lean

Hey everyone, I'm hoping the brain trust can shed some light on what might be the issue with my Uly. I've got a 2008 XB12X with just over 100,000km on the clock. She's been 100% reliable over all these years, never left me stranded. In my ownership I've replaced the cooling fan that died around...

    Skid plates

Looks like another pre-order is up - so if you've been thinking about getting a skid plate go and express your interest! http://deanadamsdesigns.com/cart.php?target=product&product_id=21

    Skid plates

Are you thinking of doing another run of these this year? I realise the current climate probably means this is a long shot (and the fact only two people ordered them in Jan) but I'd be interested in one at some stage over the next 6 months.

    Bar risers

Thanks BuellyBagger - problem is I'm based in New Zealand so shipping could be a bit spendy. We certainly pay more for Harley/Buell parts over here - local Harley dealer priced a top mount up at NZ $62 (~US $41).

    Bar risers

@lunatic I'm not familiar with the top clamp hack and fit routine - what's involved? My search-fu seems to be failing me. @BuellyBagger I did look at Rox risers but they raise about 2" and move the bars back about 1" so would require re-routing cables etc, not the end of the world but was...

    Bar risers

Hi team, I've been looking for some bar risers for the Uly - standing up in the rough stuff it feels like I'm reaching down too low. A quick Google throws up Diesel Moto (which is out of stock - no idea if they're gonna make more) and Precision Engineering whose website spits out 500 errors if I...

    Oil consumption and colour

We can get pretty much everything down here, but sometimes it costs quite a bit more (the Syn-3 is actually one of the cheapest ones when buying per quart, about $6 cheaper than Belray and Mobil-1). I'll probably roll Lucas 20w50 synthetic motorcycle oil next as that comes in a 5 liter pack...

    Differences between 2008 XB12XT and 2009 model

BWB has a good run down on the different model years - doesn't appear to be much changed between the 2008 and 2009 models, though I'm pretty new to Buells myself so happy to be corrected.
