    Repositioning Battery and Lithium Upgrade

I never liked the way the battery is positioned in this bike. Not sure about the stock battery but the aftermarket one I got didn't allow for much space between the frame and the battery case for the rear seat spade to slide in. And the positive terminal is awfully close to the metal frame...

    Changing Front Tire

Cleaned everything real nice like, froze my new bearings over night and everything went together with little problem. It helped to have the bearing driver kit. Pushed them in straight with minimal pounding. Kinda wondered what all the fuss was about and since I bought the driver kit and just...

    Changing Front Tire

Thanks for the offer John but I've fixed a lot of bikes, just haven't done bearings. They are not listed as a service item for any of my bikes and so I haven't given them any thought. That's why I asked about this being an issue with the Buell. Bought a bearing removal/kit that knocked them out...

    Changing Front Tire

The 6004s I ordered are returnable but will fit on the front of my CBR 600rr so I'm keeping them. I don't like a mystery so contacted All Balls. Helen Turner -- [email protected] -- responded within a couple hours. She confirmed that their wheel bearings are 100% Chinese made...

    Changing Front Tire

The photo is after I pried off the orange dust cover. I knocked both of them out today but noticed they are 6005, NTN brand. Cooter said front should be 6004 so that's what I ordered. Is that correct? I have no dog in the hunt about where All Balls are mfg. but a guy on the CBR forum emailed...

    Changing Front Tire

So is the advice to replace the bearings because there are known issue with the stock one's? Here's what mine look like: The bike is going on 11 years old but only has 7k on it. I ended up ordering SKF brand. All Balls are not universally loved to put it mildly. Rebranded Chinese from what...

    Changing Front Tire

SKF seems to have good buzz on the forums. Never bought bearings before.

    Changing Front Tire

Got the axle tool before I read any of this. Clever thing that. Worked great, axle came out without issue. Once the wheel dropped and was able to move towards the motor there's enough room to remove the caliper. I had already removed the mounting bolts. Not sure if it would work with the...

    Changing Front Tire

Decided I'm going to take the plunge and start doing my own tire changes. Front tire on the 1125 is my first go at it. My first speed bump was lack of a 22mm hex bit. Mine did not come with that adapter in the tool bag and jamming a spark plug wrench in there didn't seem like a great idea...

    Good Stands for the 1125

I found that my normal stands didn't adjust wide enough to lift the rear wheel on the Buell. Bought some from GPI Industries for about $140 delivered that are perfect. Rear come with hooks and pads and front clears the axle nut for tire changing. Good quality, from USA mfg.

    1125cr tips and opinions

The Rotax motor is the best thing Buell ever did. You get a huge amount of bang for your buck with these. I paid $3200 for my 08 1125r in February and put around 1500 miles on her so far. I swapped out the regulator and that solved all my minor electrical issue. She hasn't given me any...

Upgraded to SH647 Voltage Regulator. Glad I did.

I don't think cooling is much of an issue with these series regulators. Even after long rides in the summer heat it's just warm, never hot. The stock one was scorching hot after every ride. I've noticed an odd side effect though. With the stock regulator removed there's now a little more air...

Upgraded to SH647 Voltage Regulator. Glad I did.

My 08 never reached 14v charging and my instrument cluster flickered very fast, like a fluorescent light with the ballast going bad. And the stock Ducati shunt-type VR added a lot of heat under the seat where there's already a lot of heat. These things are supposed to have air blowing over...

So Where Can One Get Fuel Maps

I bought the Buell Tuner BT bluetooth connector with the idea of experimenting with fuel maps. I saw that fuel maps were available for free on Buelltooth. It never occurred to me that there would be multiple brands of these connectors. And since I don't have the Buelltooth brand I'm at a loss of...

    Live Data Table

After clearing my historical codes with the Buelltooth clone all has been well for the past couple weeks. No more COM error or codes. Yesterday after an hour ride I put a probe into the gas tank to feel/measure the bubbling gas. It was not boiling, just bubbling. Maybe it's boiling lower in the...

    Live Data Table

Got my Buelltooth clone and linked in with ECMdroid. Very cool. Easily worth $36 even if I never really need it. It came up with two historical codes. I cleared them and we'll see if they return. I'm going to remove, clean and reattach my two grounds tomorrow. They look fine but you can't...

    Considering a Few Mods/Upgrades - Any Advice?

I put the United Pacific strobe module on my Triumph and it didn't work there either so returned it. Bought two different ones from superbrightleds.com and worked with no problems. The cheaper one is $5 and install is just cutting your brake light wire and spicing the box into the circuit while...

    Live Data Table

Those values are what I read off my IC in diagnostic "live data" mode. Good info to know, thanks. I ordered the Buelltooth adapter so should be able to use some of this next week. My CEL hasn't stayed on or did the on/off thing to signal historical codes but I get the Comm Error U0001 when I...

    Live Data Table

Looked around to see if I could find what my default values should be but didn't find anything so thought I'd post mine for others to reference. I can figure out what most, but not all of it, means. The final two values aren't listed in the electronics manual (4-4) and I don't know what they...

    Considering a Few Mods/Upgrades - Any Advice?

Update on "mods" I found some 1125r decals on eBay a bit smaller than what I had in mind but ordered them to see what they'd look like. Turns out they didn't stick (standard outdoor vinyl) to the frame at all so I put them on the airbox cover: That slab frame just cries out for some sort of...
