Aftermarket Levers that aren't death traps?

Ebay, $25, fit great, work great, look great

XB misfire at constant RPM cruising (~3500 RPM).

Nice picture explanation  Use flux, helps the solder flow more evenly

XB misfire at constant RPM cruising (~3500 RPM).

Wow, nice write up! I had been having similar issues on my '08 12s. Was getting rear o2 inactive codes after stutter/misfire, so I just ran it open loop which fixed all of the stutter/misfire at 3500 rpm cruising. I do, however, still see stutter/misfire after running it high rpm and up towards...

    Underpowered/too lean?

I agree. But if there is a performance gain and the bike still runs well, then I would assume the AFR should be better than before, correct?

    Underpowered/too lean?

Perfect, that's exactly what I was unsure about! There was a lot of information I read through that didn't make 100% sense to me and that's essentially the biggest question I had. Thanks for that info Cooter!!

    Underpowered/too lean?

No, it's still reading the O2 sensor

    Underpowered/too lean?

Hey all! So my journey with Buells continues! The bike is treating me well and I am having fun getting used to its riding characteristics coming from a 2010 zx6r. I've been reading all over of people pulling power wheelies with ease through 1st and 2nd. My xb pulls pretty nice, but its...

    Engine shake during RPM drop

Yeah I think it's not so much engine/piston size as it is the single-pin crank design. It's naturally sort of "off-balance" so a little shaking would seem normal. As long as it's not shaking while cruising I got no worries :D

    Engine shake during RPM drop

Mine doesn't seem to have any odd vibrations while cruising, its actually really smooth. Pretty sure the engine shake during rpm drop is due to the single-pin crank shaft design and like rchuff said, it not being very well balanced.

    Engine shake during RPM drop

Yeah I was surprised to see how many times loctite is mentioned in the service manual compared to my zx6r service manual lol but yeah I'll keep an eye on things, thanks!

    Engine shake during RPM drop

Of course! On the XB, only a few days. But I've been on other V-twins (smaller displacement - 649, 821, 1098) that I never noticed that on before. 1203 cc V-twin is definitely a lot different and a lot more piston to move so I'm not surprised that it has that slight shuddering characteristic...

    Engine shake during RPM drop

Okay, thanks! I figured it was normal but thought I'd ask!

    Engine shake during RPM drop

No the bike rev matches just fine on down shifts. This only occurs if I'm cruising then pull in the clutch to coast. As the engine speed drops, there is a bit of shudder but it doesn't behave weird or misfire or anything. No fault codes neither

    Engine shake during RPM drop

2008 xb12s. The tires are good, it's not the actual ride quality that shakes. It's like I can feel the engine shaking a bit as the rpms fall after pulling in the clutch. It's not like a violent shake or anything just like a thumping shudder as it comes down to idle. And thanks for the heads up...

    Engine shake during RPM drop

Hey all! Started riding the Buell and have been enjoying it a lot! One thing I noticed was when I'm riding and I pull in the clutch to coast, the engine/bike sort of shakes as the engine drops in RPMs. Was wondering if this is normal Buell behavior or something I should investigate. Thanks!

    Fork covers???

Hey all! Was wondering if anyone has a DIY for fork covers, or if anyone knows where one could buy some? Was trying to do something like this for forks I figure it couldn't be too difficult to fab some, but figured i'd ask in case someone has attempted this. I also contacted showyomoto but he...

The cover itself will be easy. Making a guard that looks good would be a bit more difficult. I wonder if 5-0 would lend me his CAD design :cool:

I guess I should have phrased it differently. Specifically, I wish there was a larger variety of pulley covers available, and from US sellers. I understand 5-0 used to make them but doesn't anymore, and everything I've found seems to be super spendy and overseas. Was thinking to machine my own...

I can't really say that we don't since I only joined the Buell family this spring. I see some Buells on the road every now and then, and there was a guy at my school that had one, so they are definitely around. Buell forum community facebook page could be a good place to start

No not yet! I know of a few groups that do some riding in the area, met them all back when I was on a zx6r. Not really my type of rides though lol. Part sourcing has been pretty easy so far for me. Some aftermarket parts are hard to find and variety seems limited as well.
