    Question about LED Turn Signals

Looking to order some LED Turn Signals, along with a Relay, from Amazon. Here is my question: Will the stock, front turn signals' spacer (the long metal spacer that is threaded on both ends) fit most Universal LED turn signals? I've noticed, judging by the photos, that the vast majority of...

Need help: Installing XB wind deflectors (for hands) on 03 XB9 SL

Hi guys, This is a very simple install. However, I ran into a problem. The bar end plugs that come with the kit don't fit my 03 XB9. https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1713/7809/files/J04340_en_US.blaiseBUELL_WIND_DEFLECTOR_KIT_1.pdf?3882394188370642893...

Newbie about to do some maintenance

You know, I notice a little more noise, but I think that's just because you said something! Lol. I changed the oil on Christmas Eve with the 20w-50 stuff. I'm glad I got all the metal shavings out! I started the bike this morning, 35 degrees Fahrenheit outside. I heard intermittent clatter but...

Newbie about to do some maintenance

Wow! I tightened the drain plugs today on the oil tank and primary. All it took was a half turn from finger tight until it was very tight. Even less on the primary drain plug. I can see how torquing them down with a torque wrench would strip the threads.

Newbie about to do some maintenance

This bike has only had 1 owner and I’m pretty sure he would’ve mentioned that he replaced the starter. He’s family.

Newbie about to do some maintenance

I just got a bunch of gaskets for the bike from the previous owner, my uncle. There is a slow leak of oil onto the top of the transmission case. My uncle suspects that it is the gasket between the starter motor and the engine. Makes sense to me. How difficult is it to replace that gasket? How...

Newbie about to do some maintenance

I am new here. I got my '03 XB9SL in July with 23,700 on the odo. It now has 25,600. It's my first bike. I'm going to change the tank and primary oil. I ordered 20w-50 Mobil 1 Vtwin synthetic for the tank and primary, because I heard a lot of good things about it on these forums. The filter I...

Lost my rear brake today :(

Thanks! I suspect the fact that the previous owner never- and I mean never, used the rear brake and never bled the fluid probably excacerbated the problem. Do you think the method I was using to bleed the rear brake was not the best?

Lost my rear brake today :(

I would pump the brake for a little to build up pressure. Then crack the bleeder valve while pushing all the way down with my hand. Once it bottomed out, I would tighten the valve and repeat. I was assuming I shoved the piston all the way to the top and it got stuck at the top. I would assume...

Lost my rear brake today :(

New to the forum!! 03 XB9SL with 26k on the clock. I’ve had the bike for 3 months and I just found out from the previous owner that he never bled the brakes since buying it, brand new. He was very diligent in other manners of maintenance. This bike runs like a top, even in this cold weather. I...
