Just a side note and FYI... when welding the bell crank onto the Dorman unit be sure to use a stainless steel welder/welding rod. The bell crank and Dorman unit are both stainless steel. This might be obvious to some but others might find this info useful.

34:19 - That’s too funny! Cooter, They actually printed on the module - Do not rotate by hand. But that’s great advice as I guess it’s not obvious to everyone so they had to add a warning label.

So I've got a quick question... How important is the position of the bell crank on the new Dorman unit? I plugged it in and let it cycle like Starman suggested. It did move to a "home" position. According to the link that Barret supplied in the thread, the hole (where the cable end attaches)...

Thank you Starman. I will do that. Part should arrive later today so hoping to get it all squared up in a few days.

    Check engine light

Thank you Barrett for the step by step guide. I did all of the above. For good measure I changed the fuse after checking it. The old one was replaced a while ago but to be 100% sure I checked them all again and replaced it. After doing all of the steps I did not find any change so I will be...

    Check engine light

So I did an active test on the exhaust valve and I do not see any movement at the muffler or hear any noise from the servo actuator. I did other tests like fan and fuel pump to see that the tests actually work and those all are fine. I forgot to mention that I did check the connections at the...

    Check engine light

Good day to all, 2008 XB12XT 26,500 miles(give or take). I have got the following codes that came up using the Buelltooth and ECMdroid app. Code 21 - AMC stuck open Code 0 - Baro short to supply voltage/broken wire CEL came on briefly a while ago and went off again. It would flash once every...

    The New Melvins are out!

"Cooter called it" should've been the heading to this thread... I think anyone with an expectation would have been disappointed. I think as a Buell community we hoped for a bit more than this... Let's be honest here who needs a 175hp dirtbike? Why didn't they rather take the resources of the...

    New tires and maintenance

Thank you all for helping out and the guidance provided. She's all back together and ready to ride! Best piece of advice by far was the axle spacers. Rear bearings where stuck and all rusted up in there and the axle spacer didn't look very healthy. Glad I ordered them and didn't hesitate to see...

    New tires and maintenance

@Barret Thank you. I got in there pretty good with a wire brush and some sand paper. It initially seemed a lot worse but it was surface rust at most. I wiped some wd40 onto the rusted areas and also made sure not to get it on other parts. After leaving it for a few hours it already looks pretty...

    New tires and maintenance

I ran into a few more issues than I anticipated but so far I have the wheels off. I think some years of neglect have added some corrosion and issues I will have down the line. Front bearings are toast. I can barely move them without force. Rears are in better shape but need replacing. Both...
