    STATUS UPDATE--- found that the primary chain shoe failed and the piece that broke off was wedged in the shift drum in the tranny. clutches are perfect and no debris was found in the clutch or the basket.

    ok. thanks everyone for your inputs, only thing that is confusion the hell outta me is that it isnt all the gears having the problem, 2nd and 3rd are just fine. is that normal with the problem and solutions your all are inputing???

    my buddy who has the exact model took it for a ride and think im going to have to change the clutchs, he said just a new clutch kit. sound reasonable??? right now im running a barnett clutch in it

    99 x1 air cleaner??????

    go with k&N filter recharge kit. is good for cleaning any filters. you may not even need to buy a new one.

    high idle

    had the exact thing go on with mine. all it is, is you have to adjust your idle control when it is nice and warm. just turn down a slight bit. you want it to idle about 1100 to 1200. just keep messing with your adjuster till you get it to where you like it. do you know where your idle adjust is?
