    WTB Firebolt Relay/Fuse blocks

Looking to buy Firebolt relay and fuse blocks that attach to fairing bracket/housing. Let me know if you have anything. Parts numbers were Y1201.02A8, Y1200.02A8 - below is a web pic that has the two black boxes on either side of the fairing.

Franken-buell - differences between S/SCG frame and Ss?

Yeah, I’m all over the place. I should have title this differently, explained where I’m at before asking about one specific part of a larger set of options I’m looking at. To start over: I’ve got an Ss with two significant mods: Firebolt fairing and front swap The smaller/shorter Lightning...

Franken-buell - differences between S/SCG frame and Ss?

nope, not the same. I knew I needed an SCG clamp for SCG forks. Didn't know the turnstop wouldn't allow the clamp to seat into the frame neck.

Franken-buell - differences between S/SCG frame and Ss?

yep, albeit a few grand more than an S/SCG Frame. but yeah. I own an Ss right now, and I can get a frame used for a few hundred bucks. The silver clamp is from my Ss - fits the larger Ss/Uly/S forks with a particular turnstop set up that I didn't know was unique to the Ss/Uly, etc. The...

Franken-buell - differences between S/SCG frame and Ss?

They aren't, I knew this and found an SCG lower clamp that works with the SCG forks. What I didn't know is that the lower fork has a different steering stop design - the pain is real:

Franken-buell - differences between S/SCG frame and Ss?

What engine mount/body issues will I run into swapping over Ss engine/ECU/everything to SCG frame? Do I need S/SCG engine mounting bracket, cylinder head bracket, etc??? What other issues? I've an Ss that I put a Firebolt fairing on, shorter S seat rails (without any cutting, etc. just a...

Firebold Upper Triple fit SCG forks and lower triple tree?

if I get the SCG lower at 41mm, will my firebolt upper fit? I've read some posts that all specifically talk about the scg forks and lower triple needing stay together at 41mm, but I haven't been able to find if the upper would fit the scg forks... are the firebolt uppers 43 and the scg forks 41...

Fork leak means tail swap time!

That’s probably what I’ll end up doing, just using my Ss/Long rails to cut off the end. It’s pretty solid right now, should be fine through the end of summer.

Fork leak means tail swap time!

I was trying to avoid that question, but what the heck. I bought the tool to get it apart pretty easy, didn't need a jig or anything else other than the vice to hold it. When I disassembled I found that the dampening rod wasn't connected. It's just a pinch up in the cap that holds it, and...

Fork leak means tail swap time!

forks done. different route on the tail swap: need to use brackets to raise seat - the gab between it and the tank/cleaner plastic was pretty bad, had to raise them up about 3/4 inch to get it lined up right. Brackets are done, just trying to figure out how I'll fill the gap. Never made a...

Fork leak means tail swap time!

Bracket arrived, much better: Fork seals arrived. Going to get some oil and pull the fork, ready for tools to come.

Fork leak means tail swap time!

The guys at St Paul Harley Davidson had the smaller Firebolt tray fuse holder, so I was able to pick that up when I ordered new fork seals. I could drop a lot of money on that website, with all the Buell parts they still have. Right now I’m going back and forth on picking up a cheap drill...

Fork leak means tail swap time!

Fork seals... yeah. :upset::D I need one of these for an S: The Ss fuse holder takes up too much space. The S version looks "shorter". Right now I'm fitting everything up, going to cut my plastic tray bottom like Nitto12Ss did in his build, move the shock to the other side, all the little...

Fork leak means tail swap time!

My front fork was leaking, might as well use these tail swap parts I’ve been accumulating! S tail on Ss. This is just the figment mock-up. I think I may have a shop just move the bottom hole up to align, and reinforce with some steel pieces on the backside of the of the rails.

    Cooling fan issues

I have an '06 Ss that I bought in 2012. Had a hot summer the next year and the fan was working overtime, then gave out. Got a new fan, it was still on all the time. Got the air scoop and it was an immediate improvement. Now the fan even on the hottest days doesn't come on much at all. It...
