    Lower belt guard?

The Ss guards are so ugly. I removed them long ago and haven't looked back. So much sexier without them. It's worth a slightly increased risk of breaking a belt imo.

    DC Area Mechanic?

Thanks for all the replies. Unfortunately I don't have the tools/space/expertise to work on it myself. Are there any trusted buell mechanics in the area?

    DC Area Mechanic?

Anyone know of a good mechanic in the DC/NOVA area? My XB12Ss cooling fan is blowing fuses and I need someone to look at it. Unfortunately I don't have a good location to attempt to DIY.

    Fuel Pump Issue?

Today I started the bike like normal....key on, fuel pump on, light goes out, start bike....but then the fuel pump light immediately comes back on and I can still hear the fuel pump while the engine is running. Any ideas what the problem is? Is my fuel pump going bad? The bike seemed to run...

xb9sx left me stranded on way to work

Sounds like a battery issue. Clean the battery terminals and connectors. Might want to do the grounds also. btw: When I say clean, I mean using something abrasive on the metal like this...

low beam light will go out sometimes

Thanks for the info! I'm going to replace the connectors because when I move them the like goes on and off. Flaya, I really appreciate you posting the part #'s and details, but I don't know how you were able to order only 4 of those connectors. It says I have to order a minimum of 100 each...

To those with an incurable sputter in the mid-range.

^ thanks Wayne! That's what I ended up doing too. Tip of my Allen wrench broke off in the bolt as I was tightening it back up...it's always something lol. Hopefully my bike rides better after this.

To those with an incurable sputter in the mid-range.

I have the lower airbox removed and I don't see the coil everyone seems to be referring to. I see what appears to be an engine mount with a braided wire that is accessible, but that's it. I don't think that is something I should remove. Any help here for a noob?

To those with an incurable sputter in the mid-range.

This thread deserves a bump. I've been having ground related issues and plan on giving this a try.

    CHECK THEM GROUNDS......

I've been chasing what seems like a ground issue for some time now. I'll clean the battery connections and the bike will run awesome for a few weeks, then eventually it'll start hiccuping. I've only been messing with the frame rail ground next to the battery. Looks like I'll have to try to...

    Stock Lightning mirrors

I think the stock mirrors look good and are somewhat functional. They stick up like crazy bug antennae....I think they're one of the quirky/cool defining features of the Lightnings.
