    Buell XB vs FZ-07

the 7 is no comparison...its a beginner bike. i have ridden one (2015) and for its purpose, its fantastic. but an experienced rider will quickly be aware of its shortcomings. on another note, the only bike out there right now i would get and still keep my buell would be the fz9. not the 7.

    New to the Buell Family

youll just have to replace them 8 or 9 times in the life of the bike. so it all works out. lol

im all about efficiency...and that stuff is very efficient. lol i prefer tripels and quads though. but its not fair that Karbach brewery is walking distance from the office. lets just say i have collected a.......lot.....of glasses. we go every other week on friday after work. hehe

    Burned a valve....

other thing to try is start over with a bone stock EEPROM, reset TPS, and see if it does the same thing with no ECM modifications. if the tune is good, running without AFV is fine. just like a carburetor

    Burned a valve....

with what ive read thus far.... at the track (and why you were experiencing the cooler cylinder temp up front) the extra fuel was fouling the plug and keeping it from firing. does this happen ONLY at that rpm range and temp? what if you run up the RPM when its at 160-170degC? same issue...

for those who upgraded to tapered steering bearings...

o geez.....now i dont know what either of you are saying! lol nonetheless, after i made the 'repair'to the stem, there was no more play or knocking. thats why i was curious about other stem measurements.

for those who upgraded to tapered steering bearings...

You guys have the right idea..,but all the bearings I tried were all loose.just under .001" of free play. The lower bearing would fall off if I turned the lower clamp upside down on the bench. Even if tqed to 100 ft lb it would still have clunked. I do not think you should tq the tapered...

for those who upgraded to tapered steering bearings...

im sure. thats why i picked up bearings from auto parts too...i wanted to compare and all of them were equally larger than stem. you had to tap the bearing onto the stem correct (all of mine just slid on with no resistance)? and also the outer races (top and bottom) tapped into the frame...

Tuning Process Question (Non Wideband 02 Sensor)

if you arent logging, theres not much to look for. the afv will only tell you what amount of fuel it is adding or removing from the maps by measuring a very small number of cells. the EGO will tell you the amount of fuel its adding/removing during idle if you have laptop connected and watching...

for those who upgraded to tapered steering bearings...

i dont suppose you happened to take any decent measurements of the components did you? im wanting to compare a couple stem OD's. the tapered bearing's ID that I have from allballs, AND 2 new bearings from other mfg are all oversize compared to the stem. its not a press fit, they slide on...

    Burned a valve....

sounds right. although a couple functions with the ecm are still strange to me in the way they are implemented, or not. theoretically, if you set your OLC (open loop corr) to 100, then tune the full map and have those areas of that region at an AFR you want, by then re-enabling OLC, youll then...
