    The outer tube should be the sane, as long as you're bike is an 03-04. If not, then you really should return the forks. You would need the matching lower triple tree. If you bought it on eBay, and it is a SL not an S fork. You can return it and even shipping will be covered both ways.

    My rings were fine, no excessive blow by, one of the heads needed some work, so decided to reseal the whole top end, which obviously meant the cylinders had to come off. Leaving the piston in the cylinders keeps the rings oriented correctly with where the are already worn in. And like I said...

    And now this engine will never run right again. Guarantee the rings don't seal no matter what crosshatch you put on it. It is not advised to remove the piston from the cylinders without boring the cylinders to ensure they are round again.
