New here, picked up my first Buell.

Twins! I have the same year and color, and it did look the same until I put a few personal touches to it. Check the rear wheel bearing because thats the first issue I had and it's no fun. Have fun!

    Update on my XB12s

Just got her back together and she's been running for a few weeks now. I finally found time to take some pictures. Almost complete, but I'm having trouble with the tune. I bought the cable and it came with ECMspy and tuner pro. I've read a lot about ECMspy and have done all the precheck...

    Jardine leak

I just installed my Jardine and there is a slight leak coming from the muffler where the s-bend slips in. It's leaking from the belt side. Has anyone had this problem? Do I need to use high temp RTV or some kind of gasket? It didn't come with anything and the instructions were terrible. Thanks!

    Oil feed fitting

That's the one. Just picked it up from the dealership yesterday and installed it. Now a few other tweaks need to be made before I ride today! Be careful putting that in. Brass breaks easy so just keep a wrench on it once it's in the pump and when you put the oil feed line on don't tighten it...

    New to the Buell Family

I bought these and they match the bike perfectly- http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Adjustable-Folding-Extendable-Brake-Clutch-Levers-For-Buell-Ulysses-XB12XT-XB12X-Gold-TT4300/1673665356.html Foldable, adjustable, extendable. I have a friend that bought them awhile ago and he's had no problems at...

    Oil feed fitting

Thanks mmcn49! I actually was able to order from a Harley dealership which there is only 2 somewhat locally near where I live in Michigan. Hopefully it ships in tomorrow, I've been anxious to ride!

    My 2006 XB9SX

I have that same license plate frame, except I'm debating where to mount it. When I did the tail chop I didn't place the blinkers well and it's pretty tight under the seat so I'd have to get longer bolts for underneath. I was thinking of bending some steel in a press and mounting it to the...

    Oil feed fitting

It's a 2004 xb12s. Its The oil feed line. I was taking off the muffler rear bracket to put on the jardine exhaust.

    Oil feed fitting

Anyone know where to find this fitting at? I picked up one at a local McNabs hardware but the thread patter wasn't correct. Long story short- With little sleep I was wrenching and over tightened it, snapped it in half. Already extracted the half out so now I just need a new one but I'm not sure...

    Bearing locker

So tonight I just learned a lot from a family friend. He races often, very mechanically inclined, and knows his bearings so he took a look at the setup. He gave me a very very thin shim to put between the spacer and the bearing, donut shaped and just a tad bigger than the inner race. He stated...

    Bearing locker

Here's some pictures of the spacer. Since the ends are in perfect condition I don't see why it would hurt to run it until the next time I replace the bearings.

    Bearing locker

So I am replacing the bearings currently and I was wondering if anyone runs bearing locker on the outside of rear wheel bearings or any other bearings? I thought I saw someone post something about never seize maybe on the axle? Also, the spacer was scored just a little bit about the thickness of...

    Jardine Exhaust

Well for now it will be better than stock because I'm currently losing power due to a hole in the exhaust. Do I need more than the cable to tune it? It already has a K&N, sorry I forgot to mention that. On a side note I will not be racing my Buell. I do not NEED all the top mods for...

    Jardine Exhaust

Alright awesome, I'm ordering it now. Thanks Gloom! It's a 12 but I still want to end up doing the ECM at some point. Is it a huge difference?

    Jardine Exhaust

I know some of you guys hate the Jardine, but I have a hole in the front of my exhaust and I decided that Jardine is the easiest to find and I wouldn't have to cut mine or send it out. So the real question is- If I install the Jardine, how crucial is it to follow up with ECMspy? Would I need...

    Newer memeber with some questions

The bike was well taken care of when I bought it. Ill take detailed pics tomorrow and post them. Its still a bit dirty. I just didn't think swingarm bearings would go all that much.. Not as much movement as a wheel bearing. For $20 it's definitely worth the peace of mind. I plan to use 3m vinyl...

    Newer memeber with some questions

I don't think it needs paint? Its pretty clean from what I remember. I could be wrong though. So the bearing kit (wheels) is the all balls 25-1627? And steering is 22-1032? Just want to double check before I order anything. How often does the swing arm bearings need to be replaced? Haven't seen...

    Newer memeber with some questions

Hey Gloom, or anyone really, do you know if the 2004 rear rim can fit the 2005-2008? Ive been searching for the all balls racing kit and I can find the steering head bearings but not a kit for the 2004.. Maybe someone knows the part number for the kit?

    Newer memeber with some questions

Squid question- Is it necessary to do the idler bearings often? the right side rear is the bearing that failed and I see some guys have damage to the spacer, I don't have a stand for the bike yet, I used to use my brothers because we both had sv650s, but it is a different setup now so I don't...
