what seat is best for riding two up

Am reading this thread with interest. Having a Uly seat would be great, as just about everyone says those seats are great for two-up. I have no idea of the mod's required, though. As to suspension adjustments, if you are mostly solo, keep the suspension where you have it. I would definitely...

    Help with price !

Too many variables: location? How much someone is looking for that model/year and is therefore willing to spend; season of the year; whether your mod's are desirable for someone else; etc. $3500 low, $5500 high, probably.

    x1 or xb?

Get the x1. There are more interchangeable parts with a sportster in the engine. The tube frame makes access to the engine easier. They are rarer, so scoop one up now; you will find xb's around a few years out still, since they are newer. Mechanically, the x1's are very sound.

    shinko tires?

Yeah, Shinko makes other tires besides the longer-wearing Ravens, if you don't mind shorter tire life with better handling. Look at 003 Stealth, 005 Advance or 006 Podium. A scrub-down with brake cleaner will help wash off the slick mold-release agent and make scrubbing in faster...

    Oil Filter

Walmart Supertech works fine. Cheap as chips. Change often, like every 2500 miles; also before putting your bike away for the winter if you do that, so old oil with water and crud in it doesn't get rust into your engine. Purolator suggests on their web site not to use their "Pure One"...

    Oil Change

What bike? XB's: check oil when bike is hot, on side stand (not upright). What MacBuell said - change filter with oil. I'd go every 2500 miles.

The colors denote the strength of the "lock." Purple is lowest, then blue, then red. I think there are even others, but not used so much. Permatex and Loctite are basically the same, and I think if you surf online you can find charts to cross reference.

    Too Early For Synthetic?

If you check your manual, I believe the '09's tell you it's fine to use HD Syn3. Funny how, before HD sold synthetic blend oil, the manual didn't mention synthetics, but when they started selling the stuff with their own brand name on it, it became ok to put synthetic oil in the bike. Go for...

Leaking oil from front of motor...

You should clean off the engine really well and powder it up with spray foot powder or baby powder, talc, whatever, to see exactly the source of the leak. It could be a leaky rocker cover gasket - easy to replace. Or it could be up higher, as EZ said, from a leak around the pcv breather valve...

    cleaning head

Yep. It goes in the gas. But if you need to clean the exterior of the heads, just go to an auto parts store or to Wallyworld and buy an engine de-greaser to spray on. Follow the directions.

2010 Buell LED brake light in an '09 XB12Ss

For turn signals integrated, go to Robert at xblights.net Even brighter than the Buell LED unit, and customizable, including license plate light, light pattern, etc. And he uses the stock light casing, minus the lens. The advantage to the Buell unit is the DOT certification that Robert, like...

    thread sealant

There are a couple of references in the manual to using purple Loctite. Most of the shop manual references will tell you either red or blue Loctite. There are also a few references to purple Loctite, a type I've never seen, except when browsing on the web for it. m

    Looking for a windshield screw

The problem with going to the hardware store for these is that they will nost probably not have the conical shape that seats well into the recess of the plastic, with the nylon washer. It might hold, but it moght also crack your plastic if you don't get the shape right. Maybe a temporary fix...

Codes 13 and 14, low rpm cruise misfiring, CEL

Have you checked the battery's charge level? I keep wanting to steer you to the simplest things first, and if you can knock out options like an intake leak (fast and easy to check), a lot of gremlins pop up due to battery issues. Do you keep the bike on a trickle charger, like a Battery...
