    Why Buell...?

To me it's funny how most everyone (including me) on a buell loves the old v-twin feel, torque, and sound, yet e. buell wanted to make the bikes have higher revving, water-cooled engines (still v-twins) since the early 90's so they could be competitive against the Japanese bikes, and I think...

    Who does clutchless shifts?

Does the heavy crank/flywheel and lack of "mesher" gears make this technique hard on our trannies where it isn't so hard on the japanese bikes / 1125s? Or does it just make the shifts less seamless?

    Who does clutchless shifts?

I heard about clutchless shifting along time ago, and read about how to do it 'properly' it in sport rider and decided I would give it a shot. I could not do it smoothly out of first gear to save my life but 3 to 4 and 4 to 5 were very smooth. Seems like it works far better at 1/2 or better...

    First Track Day (Next Season)

Ah, I believe them when they say safety wiring wouldn't be a bad idea even on a street only machine, especially with our paint shakers. Also, what do you guys run for tire pressure? Coolant? ;)

    First Track Day (Next Season)

Hello everyone, Next summer (I live in SD so this season is just about done for me) I plan on doing some track days with my xb9r. First I'm obviously going to take a school, which has a seemingly comprehensive checklist of what I need as far as gear and bike maintenance, so I've got my...

My xb pops tail-lights faster than wheelies!

After fidangling with it I realized that when I installed it, I must've just inserted it, and not turned it clockwise because the terminals of the bulb weren't properly aligned with the contacts. The bulb rotating the slightest bit would make the difference between the terminals touching the...

My xb pops tail-lights faster than wheelies!

Not long ago I was riding and a nice cager told me my tail-light was out, so I order a new one and put it in, easy enough. But just today (not even a full week after I put in the last one) the replacement one also failed. I haven't noticed anything abnormal other than when I first tested it...

    Best gear for the money?

Hi, for awhile I've been riding with just jeans, my helmet and a shirt. I've tried a leather jacket a few times and it works great at night but in the day I get so damn hot it's hard to concentrate. But yesterday I was ridin and a car started to pull out in front of me, then went to a TOTAL...

    When to get new tire?

I think I'll ride it a bit more just so i can shop around a bit, plus it doesn't really have me concerned. Right now the michelin pilot roads are seeming like the best bet. Eastern SD = NO twisties.

    When to get new tire?

Ok, My question is how long should i run my current rear tire? it now being worn to/ slightly past the wear bars. The first day I had the bike I was riding in pretty substantial rain and had no problem at all...but that was about 650 miles ago. And just to make sure, it doesn't matter if I...

Any way to get a white windscreen

Hi, with a white bike I was wondering if there is any way to get a white windscreen or make the stock one white. If I have to make my own one white I was thinking it'd be better if it'd be reversible, but I can see it not being possible. Any help is appreciated.

    Are near-tank slappers normal??

Just went out and checked and both wheel bearings have the orange seals, and the last guy that owned it seemed really sensible for a sport bike rider around here and I don't think he wheelie'd much, although I might have gained some ground clearance pulling too quick of a shift :D that was only...

    Are near-tank slappers normal??

Yeah after a bit more reading I realize it's called a speed wobble, if you're not praying yet. I have to go to work now but will reset the suspension to my weights recommendations when I get home and take it for a ride. edit: I realize that it is a 6 year old bike but with only 6,000 miles I...

    Are near-tank slappers normal??

Hi, I'm new here and have a 03 white xb9r with just a jardine slip on that I've been riding for a few weeks, first bike and I'm lovin it so far. But last night I was on the highway cruisin at 65ish and it seemed like all it took to send my handlebars wiggling erratically (only about an inch of...
