    2009 XB12Ss fuel pump - need help.

I just started watching a video on youtube where the guy goes through replacing the fuel pump. Now that I've seen it, wow it's obvious. And that motor oil container trick seems like it would work way better, too.

And I thank you for that. I suppose I took your other comments as a personal insult, which I shouldn't have done. Sorry about that.

    2009 XB12Ss fuel pump - need help.

The part about the tank having a drain plug. I just had a moment when the bike was opened apart and determined the issue was with the fuel pump, I just got stuck wondering how to get the fuel out. I had the injector line disconnected already and I thought, "This is a bad way to drain the tank"...

    2009 XB12Ss fuel pump - need help.

I didn't go through all the steps just to disconnect the fuel injector fuel line, I had disconnected that line when troubleshooting the fuel pump previously. You seem to draw negative conclusions about folks without knowing the whole situation. I had a brain fart/senior moment where something...

    2009 XB12Ss fuel pump - need help.

Why the hostility? I didn't refuse to do it, I just didn't know about the drain plug. And don't worry, I can drain a bathtub just fine.

    2009 XB12Ss fuel pump - need help.

Does anyone have a "best practice" for draining the fuel tank? I can drain a bit just by disconnecting the fuel hose from the injector housing, but it's slow and potentially messy.

    Revision Moto XB-SG Slip-On Exhausts

Does anyone here run the XB-SG with the barometric sensor? Is it worth the added expense?

    2009 XB12Ss fuel pump - need help.

I appreciate all the advice. I have an A-frame ladder somewhere, LOL about the bike tail being lighter than most Americans (hey, I'm working on it!). Here in Omaha we're about to head into the really cold season - I had to go to a funeral so I couldn't work on the bike this week. Hopefully I...

    2009 XB12Ss fuel pump - need help.

It'll probably take a while before I can pull the pump. Nowhere to lift the rear as my garage doesn't have accessible rafters, but I can probably figure something out sooner or later. Crazy thing the bike was running really well up to this point - no sudden engine cutout, no issues at all.

    2009 XB12Ss fuel pump - need help.

So it seems like I'm having a fuel pump issue on my 2009 XB12Ss. I started my bike up yesterday, and after about 1-2 minutes of idling the engine died and will not start. - I hear the pump run for about 2-3 seconds when I turn the key to on. - I disconnected the fuel pump electrical connector...

I stared at this waaaaay to long..

What am I looking at? The throttle? It looks like a vacuum line that was abraded away due to being under tension and vibration - can you zoom out a smidge?

    xb9sx problem

The pipe is the one that Buell used for the catalytic muffler, which we in the US did not get. It's the exhaust pipe that will not work with the Uylsees comfort kit/right-hand air duct.

    xb9sx problem

I guess by the front exhaust pipe you are not in the USA. I would start troubleshooting by first looking at your air filter. Is it clean? Next look at your spark plugs and spark plug wires. Then try getting gas from a different gas station, sometimes you get a bad batch of gas. Does this...

Handlebar risers and wider bars - how much slack is in the stock cabling?

Update Time! OK, so to answer my own questions, here's what I've discovered: This handlebar with these 2" risers that are clamped by the stock bar clamp are about as high/wide as you can go with mostly stock parts. Yes, yes, gold handlebars. I like the black and gold look. :black_eyed: I...

So I found an XB12Ss, and here she is

I don't like to bash anyone's life decisions, but that stuff and 2A are enough to keep me from living in CA. Shame as CA was beautiful the couple times I've visited.

So I found an XB12Ss, and here she is

Huh, I never noticed when I lived there, and I rode bikes in H-Town too. I lived in the south suburb parts, maybe that was the difference. At the least Houston doesn't have potholes on the freeways. Here in NE I have to check my fillings after a freeway drive.

So I found an XB12Ss, and here she is

I'm 5'10" as well. Unfortunately for me Buell did not make a 2009 XB12S. I had an 04 XB12S, the handling was great and I prefer the slightly more compact look compared to the SS. I did not want an Scg, the suspension travel is shorter and it rides closer to the ground - really bad here in...

Handlebar risers and wider bars - how much slack is in the stock cabling?

Come to Nebraska, they said! The weather's not so bad, they said! But yeah, I might need to get a Uly cable. I'll try looking under the fly screen after this hangover subsides...:black_eyed:

Handlebar risers and wider bars - how much slack is in the stock cabling?

So I got some 2" risers and some motocross-style fatbar handlebars. At the moment I'm working on the clutch lever and I'm not sure how much slack is available. I managed to get an extra 1" on the clutch cable by removing the right-side cable clamp, and it's just barely enough. The issue right...

    How are the Buelltooth exhausts?

I got the following from Dave @ Buelltooth: So it looks like for my needs the -ST or -GT would fit the bill. For anyone who has the Supertrapp muffler, how many discs are y'all running? It comes with 12, extra discs are $6 a pop.
