Thinking of trading in Vrod Muscle for CR?

I'd had a few sportsters,an x1 Lightning and now the 1125CR-put the highbars on and the riding position is much more comfortable for the street. If its power you're looking for, the CR will deliver in ways the vrod just plain cant. I dig the vrods for what they are but as pointed out...

    1125Cr handle bar

oh-forgot to mention- my wires to the front brake switch are definitely too short. At full right, one of the connectors pulls off. I freed it up as much as possible, but its just too short. I'm gonna whip up some extenders in a few minutes.

50 degrees in jersey this weekend-

Gonna be on the CR for sure this weekend...anyone else? I'm in Elmer but I worked in Sussex county this winter. May cruise up that way. Route 23 kicks ass! Or maybe the Fort Washington area...i dunno. Its the ride, not the destination anyway!:p

    1125Cr handle bar

Installed the bars and denoided- LOVE thenew riding position- Hey I can turn my head! I hear ya extreme, the clubs would be better at the track. The only drawback to the bars IMO is the wind. But that aint no biggie.

    1125 fuel economy

my avg reads 26 and I was coming up with about 29 when calculating. Its stock ,I'm in Jersey so its cold and I've been riding a little aggressive-mostly back roads and minimal highway as of yet.

    Rev comparison: XB and 1125

yea, snow is killin me too...forced a ride in yesterday, wasnt too cool though. I didnt haVe an xb, but I did have an x1 so as far as the engine I would imagine the x1 and xb feel similar(i'm assuming). The cr pulls pretty good in the low r's but after 6500 or so it pulls like a freight...

    twin cycles torque hammer

has anyone installed one of these on their 1125? After reading a bunch o'stuff on the net it seems that the torque hammer is the best choice for performance. Man, it aint to cool in the looks department but I'm a function over form kinda guy. Questions- (if you have exp w/torque hammer) is there...

    Holy flippin' loud

I guess it really depends on what YOU want. Do you want the cool deep sound or is performance your main objective? Check the throttle response in those vids between the 1203 and the 1125. I had an 01 X1 Lightning( had a few different exhausts on it)and that thing sounded wicked, pissed off,thumpy...

    2001 x1

Thanks guys, i miss her! Like I said performance wise there is no contest, but there are alotta other factors besides speed and handling that make a bike cool. I used to work at a vtwin shop so most of my riding buds are harley riders and custom chopper guys.(I gotta hook up with some riders...

    2001 x1

yea, had to sell the x1 to get the cr and ur right it was a huge change. These bikes are not remotely similar. Comfort wise the x1 wins hands down BUT I think when I lose the clubman bars for the tallbar kit and lower the pegs on the cr I will be more comfortable. Performance wise the cr...

    2001 x1

no thats just a simota high flow forced air system with a small velocity stack. Basically its a high flow cone filter inside a bell housing. Thats the stock header with the pro series buell muffler/ecm...let me see if i can dig up up a better pic...

Old Buell vs New Buell how do the compare ?

I had an 01 X1 and loved it to pieces. Knew every nut and bolt on it and did quite a few repairs/minor mods over the 6 years I had it. To me that bike was the best of both worlds. I always loved the HD sound, but didnt dig being the slowest loudest thing on the road(my old hds,not my buell). My...

    Oil level frustration

Ok, just had my 620 mile service done. I checked the oil (hot check) the next day and had no reading on the stick so i brought it back to the dealer. The tech who serviced my bike checked it and added a little...The way they told me to check the oil is like this:Run it til its hot, shut it off ...
