    Deer Strike

Scary How they come out of nowhere and you don't see them until they're almost on top of you. This year I've seen a lot more Deer Road Kill than I remember seeing in the past.

    Deer Strike

After 54 years of riding finally hit a deer on the TT. I was pulling out of a small town on a country road. Was passing the 50MPH speed limit sign when a smaller deer shot across the road right in front of me. Hit the brakes big time and probably got the speed down to 25 or so. Hit the deer in...

    Spastic tach

My Spastic Tack – Latest Observations: My tack like others in this thread randomly fluctuates. Earlier this season I noticed that it only fluctuates when I have the heated riding gear turned on, (grip heaters, gloves, jacket liner and boot insoles). Confirmed this by observations over a half...

    Spastic tach

I have an ongoing similar issue. Checked the wires, grounds etc and have found nothing. Where can you purchase a stepper motor?

    James intake seals

IMO GJ-Blue seals are superior to stock. Clearances are tight but have had no real issues installing. That said I've only done it with the engine rolled. I always coat the seals with Super Lube but silicone will work.

    TPS Sensor P0279.3AA

Hey All - Hope everyone had a Happy Holiday Season with family and friends! Doing some winter projects on the an 07 XB12STT. Looking for a TPS Sensor, PN-P0279.3AA, (think this TPS was used on all Lightning models). It was obsoleted but I heard there was a substitute/replacement TPS that will...

What pads do you recommend for the front?

    Spastic tach

I've had a similar problem for the past couple years. I've checked the wiring but have not done any real troubleshooting. If the issue is in the ECM, is it likely to fail completely or is the problem isolated to the pink wire solder connection?

    The New Buell Motorcycle Team

Hi John - I did, hope yours was nice as well. St. Paul HD/Buell doesn't seem to have as much stuff on their web site. Hope this isn't the beginning of the end. Fortunately I finished up everything on both bikes last year, so it will be awhile before I need anything. Ed

    The New Buell Motorcycle Team

Emailed the New Buell and asked if they would be supporting the older bikes. Below is their response: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Not sure what HD's plans are but Historical Buell model tooling and parts inventory...

    Buell is back !?!

Good news indeed! I'm curious though, now that HD sold the Buell name will they continue supporting the brand with new parts like they've been doing with St. Paul Buell/HD? If not will the new Buell have any interest in supporting Lightning's Firebolt's, etc?

    Buell Lowering Kit:

My TT was a left over 07 which I purchased in late 08. In order to help sell it the dealer installed Black Plastic, (including the front fender) a lower Lightning Long XB12Ss seat and passenger pegs. There were some minor issues with the bike, (caused by the dealer's nit wit mechanics). When I...

    Buell Lowering Kit:

    >>>Not a bad option but if you lower the spring perch and then turn up the preload what do you actually gain<<<. 20mm or about 0.8". You're dropping the whole shock assembly, pre-load doesn't affect the amount gained, 20mm. Don't know what model Buell you have, can only speak about my...

    Buell Lowering Kit:

Installed one of these on my 07 XB12STT (it worked out nicely) http://www.whaccessories.com/Lowering-Kits-Buell.htm Backstory – I'm 71 with a 28-29” inseam. Even though the TT's height, (Buell's second highest) hasn't been an issue in the past and is not much of an issue now, I prefer to be...

Can LED bulbs damage front reflector?

Bought mine from ADVmonster and they work great. Absolutely no issues like Cooter mentioned. A little tricky to install. They have big wire mesh heat sinks.

Can LED bulbs damage front reflector?

Have LED's in both Buell's and the Suzuki DR650. One of the Buell's has had them for at least 25-30K Miles with no issues. The bulbs have mesh heat sinks which barely get warm. Power consumption on all of the bulbs is less than 25 Watts. 110W seems a little high. If the bulbs are consuming that...
