Well! Isn't the new site sexy?!

Same! And the mobile version seems easier to navigate. I'm not getting swamped with so many ads that I cannot even use the site.

    My new-to-me project 1125R

It's got some sort of aftermarket Buell block off plates now. However, I like actual mirrors on my bikes. :) I've got an OEM right side mirror, but I'm missing the left. As Cooter mentions, the OEM units are stupid expensive, so at this point I'm looking for aftermarket options. It looks...

    My new-to-me project 1125R

Along those lines, does anyone know of other mirrors that will fit / work on the 1125, aside from the XB R mirrors? I've had some friends suggest VFR 1200 mirrors, but it looks like the mounting angle would be "off" on that. I'm currently looking into CBR F3/F4 mirrors to see if they will work.

    My new-to-me project 1125R

Thanks Cooter! I'm really looking forward to it. I enjoy rewarding "oddball" bikes (perhaps why I like Buells and Guzzis), and this one has me intrigued. It's got a Dean Adams aftermarket exhaust, which to my old ears is obnoxiously loud. I've put the stock setup back on it. Which is too...

    My new-to-me project 1125R

Over on ADVRider a user saw my postings regarding my Buells. He reached out and let me know he was the original owner of an '09 1125R that'd he'd let go "cheap". I've always been an air-cooled Buell guy but never really felt a calling for the Rotax bikes. Still, the price was very good, the...

    Error 13 Rear 02 Inactive

Ok, thank you! Sounds like I'll need to check that when I get back home after a ride. Or maybe leave the Buelltooth hooked up during a ride and check it that way. Good deal! I can scratch the ECM ground off the list then. Thanks again for all the info.

I apologize for the repeated questions. I'm not purposefully trying to be dense, but trying to clarify. Are you referring to this mount (the dogbone part): or this mount? Those are the only mounts I can think of (aside from the front V bar or the front dogbone from the engine to the V...

    Error 13 Rear 02 Inactive

Checked. Inspected and tightened. Positive battery terminal was slightly loose. Not wiggling or anything, but I less snug than I normally get them. This is likely my culprit, IMO. Checked. Negative cable appears to be in good condition. I disconnected both ends and ran a wire rush over...

    *****buell xb digital voltmeter mod*****

That's beautiful! I'm definitely going to steal that. Maybe see if I can find a green display vs a red one. I found green a little easier to see in the daylight.

Welding timing gear to spacer on 08+

Yes, however I feel the key is the weak link in causing the engine failure vs the other way around. Just my opinion based on conversation with others who have experienced these failures under "not particularly harsh" circumstances (Buells and Sportsters).

Welding timing gear to spacer on 08+

I've had discussions with several (handful or so) of people who have had similar failures on their Buells. That's actually where I got the idea of the loose nut / increasing torque / welding them together (served as a fix for a couple of folks). Prior to that input, I was being told the...

Welding timing gear to spacer on 08+

You can see the sheared woodruff key and the fractured gear. I have new replacements for both. The machine shop cleaned up the keyway. We're wanting to install the woodruff key, install the spacer (undamaged in photos), install the gear, install the nut and torque it all down. Then weld (not...

Welding timing gear to spacer on 08+

I've got an '09 XT with a sheared key for the timing gear. It killed the gear but luckily didn't booger up the shaft too badly. I'm getting it all put back together and I'm wondering if there's any reason I wouldn't want to weld the timing gear to the spacer after rebuild (assuming proper key...

    M6 06 xb12x

I would pull the seat, take a flashlight, and take a good look around the rear head and cylinder. See if you're getting oil from a leak from there. It's pretty common to have leaky gaskets on the rear cylinder due to the heat. The oil buildup is known to kill the fan too. Where on the...

    I love these bikes!

The wife and I went for a ride yesterday on the 06 Uly. Not a long ride, but a nice 150 mile ride for lunch together. I usually dislike 2 up rides as the bikes feel low on power, the handling is messed up, etc. It largely just kills the fun for me. This Ulysses, though...it still felt...

    Error 13 Rear 02 Inactive

Barrett, Thank you for the thorough diagnostics list. My '06 recently started acting up with the 13 code. It seems to act up after a period of steady-state 3500-4k rpm running. Usually a solid red light but I've had it flash a couple of times and I've had a couple of "sputtering / missing"...
