    Buell riders-Chicago/napperville area

I'm out near Addison and would be interested in meeting up for a ride with some fellow buells.

Come on, Sheridan road is curvy in a few places :)

    voltage gauge install pics

Great post! I too did the fat_bstrd mod from badweb (installed a single LED in the cluster), but used the clearwater voltage sensor. http://clearwaterlights.com/infopg_cvs.html It looks like it was meant to be on the bike. I didn't want to damage any of the cluster wiring with vampire...

    Ulysses Trade

Notice how the value of a Buell goes up when a dealer is selling one (rather than buying one). Granted it's a 2010... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Buell-Other-2010-buell-ulysses-xb-12-xt-book-value-is-10-670-/200933758504 and a 2009 w/ 30k miles for $8k...

hand guards and light grill wanted

Just a thought: the Buell handguards stop little more than wind. If I were starting with nothing, I'd get barkbusters. At least then you'd be able to add some protection for your levers or more.

    Looking for a gear indicator

I am with you NwRider. If I were to ever really customize a bike it would have a Motoscope Pro gauge cluster. The EBR Typhoon 1190RR really does it for me, and I am much more into adventure / touring bikes than sport bikes: EBR Typhoon 1190RR Actually looking at the gauge picture on that...

    Looking for a gear indicator

It was my first Bike, bought it used and somewhat beat up. It was pretty neat however. From Cycle Guide, 1982: LINK ...High-tech also aptly describes the Sabre's F.O.I.L. (Fiber Optic Integrated Lock), the most sophisticated anti-theft system ever included as standard equipment on a...

    Looking for a gear indicator

These posts remind me that my '83 Honda Sabre 750 had electronic self-canceling turn signals, a gear indicator, a real fuel gauge, a fiber-optic alarm, lap timer, and the LCD instrument cluster worked as an electronic fault display :) I have been pondering gear indicators from the following...

stripped drain plug / bad dealer visit

FYI I no longer have the time-sert kit to lend out or sell. The first guy I leant it to (Francis Gonzalez, 12redline on the forum) disappeared without a trace. Amusingly, I picked up the shipping to help a fellow bueller out and only asked that he send it back when he was done. No good deed...

Full Set of New Midnight Black Plastics For Sale

I mean no offense, but in regards to pricing: these items can be purchased at latus harley davidson for $388.84 shipped using the 10% off code FEB027. Of course that says nothing about availability (it would take a lot longer if at all).

Has anybody received a fine for L.E.D's on there bike?

Semi-related: is it legal use those brake light modulators? Or does it vary by state (I live in IL)? I'd like to put one on my '09 XT.

    harley dealer villa park il

Those are the guys that sat on my <1 yr. old bike for nearly 2 months when it started popping fuel pump fuses last year. Every time I checked on my bike I got a different story: waiting on HD, waiting on parts, tech. will call me back.... In reality they did nothing and wanted to charge me for...

    Ducati craigslist typo??

if it sounds fishy it probably is. I sold some furniture on CL and heard from some knucklehead who was out of town but REALLY wanted what I was selling. He offered to mail me a cashiers check for more than the purchase price and I could then give him the difference back. yeah sure, BIG Scam...

stripped drain plug / bad dealer visit

I ended up using a ratchet and 12 point socket to install this, but it worked out pretty good: nice steel threads. Used some grease on the end of the tools to catch as many chips as possible. Then flushed the oil through a few times and finally put in new oil swingarm drain after thread repair

stripped drain plug / bad dealer visit

Got the time-sert installed today. As far as I'm concerned, it's better than new. Thanks again for the advice. The time-sert kit still has 4 more inserts. I'd be happy to lend it out to anyone in need.

stripped drain plug / bad dealer visit

That swingarm on ebay is amazingly cheap! for that price I'd take a chance on whether it's straight or not. I'm going to put in a time-sert today and see how well that works. If not, I'll be picking up a swingarm and replacing it. Thanks again for all the help and suggestions. This is a...

stripped drain plug / bad dealer visit

It's pretty clear I'll be fixing the drain plug myself. Any thoughts on whether it's okay to rest the bike on it's side long enough to install the time-sert? The buell only rests on the hand guard and the tires, so no worries on damage, just wondering if the bike itself will mind being on its...
