02-05 vs 06-09 Right Side Scoop?

Is there any difference between the 02-05 vs the 06-09 right side engine scoop? Some ebay carbon fiber parts dealer claims there is a difference but won't explain what that difference is. Hopefully one of you guys can be more helpful. Thanks!

Don't mess around with those "scoops". Get the full right hand scoop from here:

Yeah thats where I got mine from befor the price went up shipped $70.00. I love it not the same but close enought. Works great, when I first got it i thought my fan stopped working I was wrong.. lol

I've got the same as lokatwhaticando and just took it off my 9R this afternoon for a test (it's raining). Since I installed it this spring, the fan hasn't run on shutdown - ever. The only way it runs on shutdown is if I let it idle until it hits 175C (per ESMDpy). That tells me I'm coming off the road less than that temperature-wise. I think it works too good for my climate and riding habits.

A test ride this week will let me know for sure if it's right for me.

Does this scoop work well for keeping the bike cool? I noticed when i went to the site the right scoop is out of stock [confused] I'm so tired of my right side being hot on my scg any other options?

This scoop works! Highly recommend, if you can find it.
You have to buy 2 parts, the outer scoop (part# m0851.7aa) and the inner scoop (part# m0852.7aa), and 3 screws.

OK, I rode about 100 miles on Tuesday without the scoop. Leg got a bit warm, fan came on at each shutdown, blowing a ton of hot air out by the oil tank, sometimes running for up to a minute or so.

The question now for me is, is it too much of a good thing?
