I told my friend I would help her troubleshoot her 03 Buell Blast. She seems to be having trouble getting it going. It starts up but stalls out when given any gas. As far as I know this happens when it's cold or warm. My bike is carbureted and hers is not so I was looking for some places to start. I have a list of possible causes, does anyone have anything to add?

Possible causes:
- Bad gas
- Blocked fuel line
- Fuel filter
- Throttle cable issue?
- Spark plugs?

Any help would be appreciated. I have experience working on my own bike but never a Blast.

If her Blast is not carbureted, you need to tell us every modification. If her Blast is stock, then it's carbureted.

Possible causes:
- Bad gas Yes
- Blocked fuel line Yes
- Fuel filter No
- Throttle cable issue? No
- Spark plugs? Yes

If anyone has "worked" on the bike in the past, you need to look into the carburetor and see if there is a little silver thing sticking up from the bottom. If there is NOT, that's your problem.

1. Replace the carburetor boot.
2. Replace the fuel.
3. Replace the spark plug (NGK DCPR9EIX)
4. Report back.

Ha sorry guys. I don't know much about Blasts and I guess she didn't know. It is carbureted. The issue has to be there somewhere. Intake problem? Air leak?
