So I stripped the teeth on another belt[mad]. This will be the 5th belt on the bike, I was on my way to work this morning and while I was getting on the highway I hit a good 2nd to 3rd shift and RRRIP... there goes another belt! I ride the bike hard and commute with it daily and I'm getting pretty nervous while me and my friends are on our weekend rides. Theres another track day in a couple weeks and I need part numbers for a chain conversion. I'm not to excited about the chain but this is the third belt break on full throttle acceleration. The other belt broke due to my own fault...I was going around a corner and caught a good bump. My bike caught some air and when it came down I was still on the throttle. Don't get me wrong;) I like the belt drive its just costing me alot of money. Do I spend more for another belt or do I put the money into a chain kit?

you shouldnt be having these issues, what kind of belts are you getting. i have the same bike, do you have an alignment issue or a bad pulley. i am not very nice on my bike either, i regularly lift the front tire hitting second gear. i jump railroad crossing on occasion.

price is a little much though, but at 5 belts your pretty much there anyway

Railroad tracks are fun:). The bike is in great shape, never wrecked and all bearings are in good shape. The rear pulley is a little marked up...I could have bad luck with rocks[confused]

Thanks for the reply..I like the grandstand design kit. I was looking at the free spirits kit also, I ride hwy2 everyday to monroe and there is alot of debris on the road. I'll buy another belt for now but I'd like to get everything together for the chain drive also. When I'm on a ride I'm always thinking...I should keep a spare belt in the backpack.[smirk]
