06 and up 12r airbox conversion

Hey everybody I have an 05 12r but I like the mesh intake of the 06. Can I order just that mesh piece or do I have to order a whole new airbox? For the time being I just drilled multiple wholes in the solid plastic piece there already. Thank party people ad have a blessed day!

The colored airbox cover will fit right on your bike with no modifications.

You can't get just the mesh part. What color is yours? Did they offer that color in 06-07. If so you can pick up a used one for $200-150. If you can't get the same color you can get a road rashed one dirt cheap then just use the mesh section. I have seen people undo the plastic welds then rivet it to their airbox (looked best when painted). I'm thinking some industrial adhesive may do the trick since there is no stress on the parts. It will look cleaner than rivets.

Thank you very much for the response. I have a thunder blue xb12r so I will try to find a used one of any color and replace the piece or just get a new one. see ya out there!
