2008 Buell Firebolt XB12R. $5,500obo for PNWdubbers 6k on CL

I bought this bike new in 2008 off the showroom floor. It is currently sitting at 19.5k on the clock. Just changed the oil (7/8/13). Its never been stunted or tracked, I am the first owner and all service records will be available to serious inquiries. Its got the 52" wheel base and Chassis of a Moto GP bike, and believe me this bike is FLICKABLE. With 84ft lbs of torque to carry you out of the corners and 103hp, you'd be hard pressed to find a better or more enjoyable bike for those lonely canyons. This bike has crazy torque, a unique sound, and gets more compliments than ANY other vehicle I have ever owned. Valves auto-adjust so no costly valve adjustments needed, it's belt driven, so no chain maintenance required.

Its basically a "built" Harley Motor, it pops. rumbles, tings, vibrates nut & bolts loose and feels like your riding an American Muscle bike, cause that's what it is. Buell did things differently on these bikes, Fuel in Frame, Oil in Swing-Arm, an Under-slung Exhaust, Belt Drive, ZTL Brakes and Rotors. This Bike breaks the Sportbike mold in so many ways, people either love it or hate it. But in my opinion it really does all come together very seamlessly. It corners like nothing else I have ever been on and the power band is very linear and forgiving. Although I wouldn't recommend the Buell to a first time rider unless you have some sort of self control, the power is there and can get away from you if not careful. This is an Air/Oil Cooled V-Twin, not a Japanese Inline Four, It wont go a 180mph. It WILL bend a sweeper at triple digits and leave you grinning ear to ear.

In Addition; Even though this has a triple with clip-ons, it is nothing like the normal sportbike riding position. You sit up far more upright and there is less weight on your wrists and elbows, you can also get 1" drop pegs off a Buell Lightning super cheap on ebay and make it even more comfortable. I have done 7am-10pm rides on this bike and the stock seat was really the only drawback.

I noticed none of the pics have the passenger foot pegs in them. I take off the pegs and brackets as I think it cleans up the tail end a lot. It takes two bolt each to install, really quick, and will obviously come with the bike. The passenger seat is actually tucked under the plastic pillion cover. so its always on the bike but tucked away until needed. I love this bike and have taken care of it as such, it really does pain me to get rid of it but ya just gotta know when it's time to move on. Please don't waste my time or yours with trades. Test rides OK with Cash-In-Hand, you break it you buy it. There are no more of these bikes new, anywhere. They are getting harder and harder to find, so if this is something you have always wanted, and especially in this rare color combo, get it while the gettin' is good. The 2003-2006 Buells look to be going for around 5 grand, the 08's and up are going for closer to 7 grand, so this is a really fair asking price I believe, but I am open to offers.

Cons:

Was backed into while parked in front of my work a while back and the shift lever scratched the Primary Inspection plate. It didnt warp the plate in any way and it doesn't bother me at all so I just re-painted it black and called it good. I dont even know how much the Primary Inspection plate is, it's pretty basic, but if you order it from HD im sure it will cost you $1,000,000,000 dollars.

I replaced the levers with CRG's, and the mirrors with the Bar-ends and called it good. I actually only put one bar-end mirror on the left clip-on and have no mirror on the right hand side, but I have the other brand new mirror that came in the set, it will come with the bike, and you can install it if it tickles your fancy.

I use a Pit-Bull Stand. It doesnt really agree with the Buell Swing-Arm, and if you aren't careful, or had a few before lifting your bike...... it might scratch up the swing-arm a bit.. I bought some of the Buell Paint and touched it up whenever it happens, but... for full disclosure ya know?

Notable Failures:

* Stator Failed at 10k. Replaced with new.
* Belt Snapped at 15k. Replaced with new.
* Rocker Gasket Blew Around 15k (a known issue with these bikes, and should be upgraded to an aftermarket gasket, but I did not know this then and replaced it with a stock HD gasket...)

fantastic ad Thaloc
one of the best imo

any particular reason why you two are parting ways?

GLWS, someone is getting a deal when they buy her
:)

Are you leaving the Buell family?

The first picture is sweet. Very nice bike, someone is going to be lucky!

Honestly, She deserves better. I get close to zero seat time these days, and when I do I feel guilty. My life is 24/7 running at the mo' and taking personal time to ride Her, like she's s'posed to be ridden, it just aint happening. I have 2 - 3 hours of free time late at night right before bed, I live in deer country and last thing I wanna do is go out and play "Catch a White Tail" when they come down to the river for water in these hot summer months.

Also, Im getting pretty hard into Lampworking and could use the funds to upgrade my shop. The plan is to turn this into a nice little side business, and in a few years when EBR has a full product line to turn 10,000 goblets, pendants, and marbles into an 1190.

Oh, BTW, the 5.5k asking price is for everything. All the extra's all the gear.. everything. Look up the gear, I'v easily spent well over a grand on it, its top shelf gear. If someone is interested in just the bike, or part or whatever, price is negotiable.

I feel ya on that one big time Thaloc, doing my own thing and running a small hobby farm takes most of my time.
