08 crank conversion

I have an 04 12r and want to put an 08 crankshaft in it since mine has gone. Has any one done this? Also what other parts do you need? I have heard that you need a whole new primary and that you just need a part or 2. Can anyone please help make sense of this.

talk to ericz. I believe you have to switch some bearings and it'll swap.

Thanx again. I have been waiting a while for this cuz of money issues after selling everything I could go without I am finally getting to do this. Hopefully here soon I will be posting the classic "its back" thread.
