here is my loved one, spent 2 yrs searching for a clean one and another yr to build it. But I just sold it for $8800CAD, with 9000km on it. now I am debating if i should get the new EBR1190SX or Yamaha FZ09.

guess someone made you an offer you couldn't refuse...

the FZ-09 is a great bike for the money, improvements made over the '14 model and three flavors to choose from. there's a current recall on the shift drum stop and it's being replaced by dealers with the correct one. really looking at it as my second bike, now that EBR's future isn't clear. the SX would have been my second bike.

How do you like the FZ09? I've debated selling my XB for one, but the lack of suspension performance is a let down for me. I tip the scales at 155lbs, but I ride some twisty roads in my area hard and the last thing I want is a soft suspension.

I like the FZ09 better. I am 155lbs and 5-7", i do find the suspension a tidy bit soft but after i set it to stiffer setting, it rides alright. for style and uniqueness the XB12S is more outstanding for sure, but I really hate the vibration and the occasional hiccups from the engine. So overall, and the FZ has~20ft/lb less torque, but it revs up so quickly, with 11000 rpm and 10hp advantage i think the FZ is faster. and i guess Yamaha is more reliable. so if you're ok with the look of the bike, maybe a good idea to switch over. i also tried FZ07, Monster 1098, street triple and streetfighter. if i don't have to worry about maintenance i'd pick streetfighter 848.
